my 2nd pair. not that the first pair was bad they still work good. I just wanted two , one for a friend. The AKG 240 is a steel, for the cost.

I'm an up and coming audiophile so I've been exploring some options for professional work, and I love these! They sound clear, and yeah, they don't have heaps of base, but the base that is there isn't crushed together, you can hear the really deep sub-bass, and the top end is awesome! The semi-open back design gives it such a wide sound its simply awesome! The cable is a little long, but it is removable so its not THAT big of a deal, plus the cable is really thick and durable. TLDR; Durable, sounds amazing, good for new audiophiles!

I bought them as a birthday present for my dad and he loves them he was so happy. He has tinnitus so he needs good quality sound to treat that. Birthday present for my Dad.

I've been using the k240 as my daily driver for a while now, from gaming to video media and music. All i have is praise for the k240s. It has a great fit that doesn't bother my rather big and sensitive ears at all, I'm talking a 7 hour gaming session and forgetting I have them on. The sound is fantastic the semi open back cups give the highs Crystal clarity and provides lows with a unique timbre I hadn't been exposed to prior. If you're iffy about purchasing these due to It's low price tag which can be associated with bad quality, Don't be! I can assure you, you will be happy with your purchase.

Great sound

I have a K240, a predecessor model as it doesn't say "Studio", just "K240". I bought it 34 years ago and have listened to a lot of music with it over the years. It still works great.

Love my K240

I have been using my then new K 240, for numerous years.  Mine were made in Austria and since, moved operation to US.  I am still enjoying my K 240's, having clear and distinct sound presentation.  These headphones are very Neutral to my ears and can listen for hours, whether CD, Mp3[Streaming Music].  I highly recommend the K-240.

Excellent Headphones at an Excellent Price

I needed to replace my old bottom-line Sennheisers because the cord has tears in a few places and the wire was being exposed. I use the headphones to play/practice guitar. I'm not a professional by any means, it is more or less a hobby. I bought the AKG240s because they were recommended on more than one list of 'best of' headphones for guitar and the price was right. The good? The sound. Definitely better than my old set. These are a welcome improvement in sound. The concerns? Most headphones I've owned or seen use notches to customize as comfortable a fit to your head as possible when. These are not like that. The way adjustments are made is through what I call a 'continuous' or a 'self-adjusting' system. It operates somewhat like a spring or shocks in a car. When you put them on, there is a certain amount of travel in the "wires" that go overhead so that they use "pulling force" to adjust to your head. I'm sure that's not the best way to describe it, but it's the best I can do for now. Also, going over the head and below the adjusting "wires" is a strap that contains the AKG logo which may be made out of leather which is used to help keep the headphones in place. After using them for more than an hour, it can get a little warm with that strap right on my head, and having no hair on top of my head doesn't help either, so I wish I would have known that ahead of time before I made the purchase. I hope this has been helpful.

Things to consider

They are easy to use, comfortable. Audio is a little washed out but that is not a problem for me. I use them to cutoff my speaker system while recording self in Mixpad. Don't need a super pair like Bose for that.

For a cheaper pair they are very good for my purpo

I bought these headphones because AKG explains how these "provide high wearing comfort for long working sessions". Had these pair on for about 2 hours now and i'm already feeling discomfort on my ears. Would love to make music without having to take a break every 10 minutes.
