Aunt Lydia's-Crochet Cotton. This high luster mercerized cotton crochet thread is perfect for crochet projects both large and small. This thread is available in a wide range of fashion solids, neutral basics and alluring multi-colors that are ideal for home decorating and fashion projects. Article 154 is a size 10, bedspread weight, 3ply 100% mercerized cotton thread. White and Ecru: 400yd/365.75m, Solids: 350yd/320m and Shaded Colors: 300yd/274.3. Size 7/1.5mm crochet hook is recommended. Care: machine wash (max.temp. 104F/40C), dry flat, do not bleach, do not dry clean, OK to iron. Dyelotted: we try but are not always able to match dyelots. Available in a variety of colors. Each sold separately. Imported.

I find this thread to be superior to other similar threads from the past (including J&P Coats Knit Cro Sheen) as it is smoother/silkier and has a bit more stretch to it. It seems also to split less when working with it. One issue seems that different colors seem to have slightly different thickness for reasons I do not understand, resulting in finished products that are of varying sizes, though this usually is not an issue. Something to keep in mind is that dye lots do vary, and it is important to buy enough of a particular dye lot when you first make your purchase so that you won't have to buy more later, which might not match. Yarnspirations is NOT good with this. They do not guarantee that all of the spools of any particular color you order will be from the same dye lot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered 4 colors Blue Hawaii, Copper Mist, Shaded Browns, and Violet.  Out of the four, I love the vibrancy of the Blue Hawaii. The other are good too.

I create doilies and this is the best thread out there. It works up beautifully and blocks extremely well. I have a huge stash of this thread in every available color and will continue to use it as long as it continues to exist.

Best Crochet Thread Available

Came nice and clean with plastic wrap and the label in perfect condition. Can be difficult to find the start (hint only use the outside, poke around for a loose thread and pull it out and you are good to go), but once you get going it is easy to work with. This is a true white.

Very serviceable and well-behaved cotton thread in plenty of colors to satisfy most. I’ve used nearly every brand of cotton crochet thread available and you really can’t beat the quality of RedHeart cotton for the price point, especially for big projects like wedding dresses or matelasse coverlets. Good stitch definition without being too ropey, nice finish, resists fuzzing, pilling and breakage well, very good yardage.
