Use the included hand crank for manual operation. The fabric covers up to 105 square feet and is made from durable, UV and weather resistant polyester. The frame is powder coated steel and aluminum in white color. Actual frame dimensions are 11.5 x 10 feet (3.5 x 3 m), and fabric dimensions are 11 x 9.5 feet (3.4 x 2.9 m). It takes quite a while for the awning to extend out, and the left side of my awning drops down much farther than the right. 
Overall when it's fully extended if someone was to stand up, they would hit their head, and the base is mounted more than 12 feet off the ground. 
Also, the instructions that it came with are different from the suggested viewing on YouTube 
Send someone to fix this.
