I owned 6 pairs of the lone peak 6 and absolutely wore them everyday doing everything from hiking, working out and to work. I only bought 1 pair of the 7 and felt it wasn't as good. The lone peak 8 looked closer to the 6 and was a little firm at first and it bent them a little up and down and side to side and it loosened them up and feel great. I love the bright yellow!

I have a not only a wide toe box, but also a wide mid-foot near the outer arch and heal. This is the only wide toe box shoe I have found that is also made in wide. Honestly, I could even have the rear of the sole a little wider (since that is where laces can secure the foot) and that would be fine by me. I am a forefoot runner and love the lone peaks. I have started wearing poditry essential toe spacers in the shoes as well. I find I don't need to size up to wear the spacers. Running with them definately activates different muscles and I am working on building to longer times, similar to when I started running in the zero drop, lone peak 5's.

Finally a shoe wide enough! Toe Spacers approved too!

I've had 4 Lone Peaks and this is probably my favorite version. The cushioning is great. The materials are light and durable. I wasn't sure about the colorways though. I finally went with the "black/ green" which is more of a blue/ grey tone. I like it!

My favorite Lone Peaks

Love the shoes. I hike in them and walk around in town with them on. The only thing I wish they would add is more earth tone colors. Once you get used to the wide toe box, you want to wear them all the time. But, the color options are to bright and not well suited for wearing around town.

Big fan of Altra.

These are do it all amazing shoes, but PLEASE just make some low key colors that just blend in and don't draw attention to themselves as a running shoe. A lot of your customers just want to wear them as an everyday shoe and don't want teal, green or blue shoes.

The lining on the front of the shoe is peeling off already making a hole in the top of the shoe. It's only been about a month. I think the show is very comfortable and fits true to size but I don't expect it to hold up to any real hiking or walking.

The shoe fits great but it's already falling apart

Despite being designed for trail hiking, Lone Peaks are good at doubling as work shoes in a business casual environment. None of these new colorway options would be appropriate in that setting. It's a bummer because I don't like many of the alternatives from other brands, but I'm not really left with any choice but to shop around for something a little more neutral and toned down.

Need more neutral colorways

I loved the Altras when you made that toe-bed really wide. I am sorry that you have gone the way of other shoe manufacturers for what appears to be a "look" rather than a function. I notice that you do not offer a WIDE option for width either. Hopefully you can hear some of us who love your original idea for the health of our feet.

Make Altra toe-bed wide again!

I wish the Lone Peaks had better color options and really, this goes for all of Altra shoes. I love Altra and their shoes but I often time look at Hokas more simply because of the color options. Everyone doesn't like these bright or semi-matching color schemes.

Color Options

I have purchased 5 pair of the Lone Peaks. I love the wide toe box and zero drop. The fit is perfect, I thought I had finally found the best sneaker. The first few pair the sole lasted an acceptable amount of time but the last two pair the soles lasted less then six months. My first and second pair soles have more tread remaining on them then my last 2 pair. And the uppers are coming apart. Very disappointed with this brand. Seems the company has gone the typical profit over quantity way.
