I was a little sad cause I thought the black looked cool, but the orange was still pretty good too.

The only assembly is putting the stem on, which is a quick snap in. I could not get it back out though to try to store back in original box - I didn't want to try too hard and accidentally break it. Love that it has adjustable volume and various modes - songs, stories, funny, spooky, sounds. Fun and simple Halloween decor that will bring joy to trick or treaters.
