Battery

I was expecting heavy UPS device but you its like there is not a battery in it.  Charged it overnight without on or any devices connected to it.  Then the next day hooked it and it worked like a champ

Easy to setup and use, this UPS has enough stored energy to keep your computer or entertainment electronics from seeing the power dropouts (which I see especially in the Winter).

Device protection that is easy to setup and use

The construction seems solid.
I have only had it installed for a a week or so, but it has been functioning well.
It is larger than expected, which makes it feel a higher quality.
It does have a replaceable battery which is nice.

my new favorite home ups

Works great through lightning surges. I don't lose my work and none of my electronics take a hit. I can hear the unit clicking away and absorbing the shock.

Works Through Lightning Surges - No Lost Work

Based on the battery life, it is best to only have your router on this as it will keep it powered for 5.9 hours.  Low end PC with low end monitor and router is 90 minutes.  Notebook and router 40 minutes.  6 battery backup sockets and 3 surge only.  Definitely a good purchase but make sure it fits your needs.     I am happy with it but for my needs I was looking router only.   I am happy with the purchase.  I probably could've used more surge protected and less battery protected.

Good purchase

I returned the unit, because I replaced the old one with the new battery. The old one I had is lower model than the one I returned. You don't really have to buy a new backup power supply just replace the battery, it is much cheaper.

According to a paper attached to it, the  product I received was tested on 2-25-17 -- four years ago!

As a result, I don't have much confidence in it, given that its warranty is for three years after purchase,  and given that batteries do need replacement, according to the documentation.

Plus, I'm not sure that I'm the first owner. There were scrapes on the door to the battery compartment, and the outer packing seemed a bit bent where one would apply pressure to open it.

The basic product was probably fine four years ago.

I'm very disappointed. I thought a Walmart association would bring better results. Next time, eBay for me.

Not Confident

I had trouble downloading  powerchute personal edition. had to call apc for help.
after having it hooked up for 3 days it says it will work in a black out for 38 min.
for this I paid  $ 109 with tax.  I would never have bought it if I had known that.

apc 850

Bought this a few weeks ago, on sale at Walmart for $40, to keep my cable box powered up during power fluctuations.  THIS PIECE OF JUNK DOES NOT-NOT-NOT WORK.  My lights flickered today.  CLICK: cable box powers down.  This thing can't even keep the tiny electrical load of a 6-month old cable box running?!?!  So the cable box tries to reboot, CLICK.  Three more times the box can't even fully reboot and the UPS fails to do it's job.  Also, the manual describes several scenarios of status light plus beep tone, but it DOES NOT DESCRIBE THE BLINK PATTERN I AM SEEING, NOR THE BEEP TONE!!!!!  I am VERY frustrated and I will NEVER buy another APC product ever again.  I am going to try CyberPower as I hear they are very good.  NOTE: Earlier when I did a search for APC UPS half of the results on Google were for CyberPower products.  Just now when i did a search for CyberPower UPS there were ZERO results for APC!  I guess that should tell us all who NOT to use...
