Battery

Power Level

I know this is expensive, however which is more expensive replacing your laptop or protecting your lap top?  We have a lot of brown outs here and I now have one for each tv and one for each computer. I have lost my computer twice now and it is not worth losing it again because of not protecting against power surges.  Strips do not no the job and you need time to shut down you unit so this is a bargain.  Would highly recommend to anyone who has power surge problems.  Don't rely on power strips, they don't protect you computer.

This small unit works great it saved my equipment twice already...it fit's inside my tv cabinet with my computer...Also they must have corrected the noise issue with these units, mine is quiet as a church mouse...

APCBR700G

My first APC Back up UPS Pro 700 lasted a long time. I had to replace the battery once. Eventually, it went entirely dark. This is the second one. Works perfectly out of the box. Expect long life from it, too.

Good unit, good price.

I've used APC backup UPS for years. I've tried other brands of UPS but have found them to be less reliable than APC. This one is nice with a front panel display where you can cycle through information screens for a quick check of UPS status. The battery is hot-swappable, so you can change the battery without powering down the PC; nice if you're running a server or need to stay up for extended periods of time.

Great backup for home PC

APC Power Converters are simply the best on the market. You never have to worry about a computer crash with an APC backup.

APC is the best in backup power- I use it for all my computers and my husband uses them in his workplace

APC FTW

We've had this for about a week so have not had a chance to test all the features.   We got it for power outages and power hiccups and not for auto shutdown or power saving features.  We have had the power blink once and the 2  computers hooked to it didn't seem phased a bit.  The unit went on battery power for less than 30 seconds.  I probably should have given it 5 stars but as I mentioned above I haven't tried all the features yet.

Works as advertised

Though APC is the most popular and available back- up product it has a short life span. I have owned 3 of these. And have had to replace all of them after 4 - 6 years. Each one started to over charge the internal sealed lead acid batteries. Causing the unit to fail. The last one I had was a 1350VA model. It started to pulsate the output sending low voltage to my equipment. If you buy one of these make sure you test it at least once a month. And keep watch on how warm its getting. I do not plan to buy anymore APC UPS products.

limited life

APC expected me to wire in a replacement battery cartridge.  I returned it.
