I only wear Asics! These Gel-Contend 8's are good shoes, and the reasonable price I paid reflect that. Next time I am moving up a class or two in quality as these are good basic shoes, not great. Not to say I do not like them, I do. Just feel a bit off form my last pair.

The first time that I donned Asics running shoes was around 1975. I liked them then. It wasn't until a year ago (2023), while traveling through España (Spain) that I purchased a pair of GEL-CONTEND (maybe-8 or similar). I loved them! So this past year I have ordered three more (different colors, same style basically). They are light, extremely comfortable and appealing (to my eyes). I wear them casually on a daily basis. They clean up easily and look like new when you follow the "Care Instructions." I highly recommend them.

Comfortable - Donned Immediately

Bought these for my son since he has a wide foot and is comfortable with them. He's a nurse and stands on his feet so much that these help.

New sneakers for Christmas

Sneakers are everything I expected. Personally I would prefer a different lace. A round body vs a flat lace.

ASICS are our go to wide shoe! Perfect fit every time! Great color options and holds up really well to everything my teen throws at them!

The ASICS shoe is the only shoe I buy.  I have wide feet with hammer toes and this shoe works perfectly, plus I used to work for a Podiatrist and this is the only shoe he recommends!

This is terrific shoe! I feel like flying when I run with these shoes. It gives me just optimal support, not too much and not too less while running. Of course, the rest depends of your running style.

Perfect running shoe

Overall a good fit, but a little harder to get on than some other brands. A pull strap in the back would be helpful. They are very comfortable once you get them one.

Would've been 5 star except for a missing feature

Fits perfectly. Needed to replace my shoes with wider ones due to bunionnet. I had a good experience with this Asics model, so I just moved to the wider version.

Perfect for serious walkers

I've had these for about 3 weeks now and feel as comfy as my old GEL-CONTEND 7 that I had for 3yrs before this. It's extra wide which makes sure your toes get that extra room while running. Highly recommended.

I had the Gel-Contend 7s extra-wides and they fit phenomenally. They seemed snug at first, thinking it was just the new material, but they are too narrow in the toe box, and even though they are the same size 12.5, they are uncomfortably short.
