I had to buy these because the venture 8 4(e) are narrower than the venture 7. I bought the same style and size as I always do and it was like a completely different shoe. My neuroma flared up after just a couple hours in the 8's. I went back to venture 7's and my foot could spread with plenty of room. ASICS, what did you do to my favorite shoe?

Very comfortable & love the 4E wide. Most running shoes are too tight for me.  Bought a 2nd pair for casual use since they are so comfortable.

fab shoes

I was disappointed that this shoe was not wide enough around the toe of my foot. I thought it was a great looking shoe but unfortunately it is hard for me to find shoes that are wide enough to be comfortable.

Not wide enough for me

Shoe is comfortable with laces expanded as far as possible.  While marked as 4e is is too narrow. It would be nice if ASIC's offered true 4e widths in a large variety of shoes.

I very much like the Gell Venture series...BUT!!! The shoelaces are cheap flat laces that are hard to pull through to tighten. They should be round or oval and substantial in quality like the shoe itself. Why do you cheapen a good pair of ASICS with these laces???

Cheap laces on a quality shoe!

I like the Venture 7 shoes but not near as much as my Ventures 6 shoes. I had 4 different pairs of the 6's with no problems. The 7's are comfortable but do not seem as wide as the 6 even though both are 4E Wide.

VENTURE 7 SHOE

Decent, but the tops were a bit stiff and left indentations on my feet until the shoe was broken in. Doesn't grip as well on rock as m7 Gel Venture 6. Laces were way too thin and had to be replaced. Overall a slight downgrade from the Gel Venture 6

Bring back Gel Venture 6

A step back.
After two pairs of Venture 6's, the 7 is a huge disappointment. The platform is narrower. Compensated for fit with a hot thickly padded tongue. Laces are thin as threads - difficult to grasp and cut my hands. Wished I had bought another pair of the old model.

A Step Back

Shoe is comfortable wide fit but the rubber toe piece of both shoes started falling apart after my first hike.  Because of this it tends to catch on twigs and rocks so I don't use anymore.  I did get 3 hikes (about 20 miles) out of the shoes.

Good shoes for one summer trip
