CONS: The DDR5 issue with 12th Gen Intel CPU is still alive so be aware anything over 4800 native will give issues with XMP active.

I have used Asus products for quite some time, and I have always been more than satisfied with them. I do a fair share of online gaming, and a fair share of watching videos and movies as well. This motherboard is one I am impressed with, since I have purchased it with the intent of preparing not only for Win11, but to add some other equipment I had not ventured to use previously. I had used SSD drives, and after doing my research before buying this Z790, I had determined that I would buy these newer M.2 drives, since reviews had shown them to be so much faster. Asus has not only made my life so much easier with their setups, fantastic manuals that explain things so well, but the motherboard performance has really impressed me with how fast the data transfers are, and the seamless ease of integrating other older style drives. The embedded sound system is excellent, and I love not having to buy a separate sound board. The LAN works flawless, and is lickety split fast! I am a casual computer nerd, and I know only basic things, but I am smart enough to research to learn, and trust in Asus to provide just what I didn't know I needed! I am grateful to all the technicians, engineers, and assemblers who work hard to make superior products, and that quality keeps me returning any time I need something new. Awesome Asus, I say!

Gamer Quality, Consumer friendly

This is the 3rd MB I have now owned from Asus and they remain top notch. The Prime series of boards have met and exceeded all of my needs. The one time there was a hic up, Asus RMA and fixed it quickly and perfectly. I would highly recommend there boards and the Prime lineup.

Excellent Mother Board!

Really elegant design. I appreciate the 4 (4!) m.2 slots for super fast storage. Integration with Corsair's iCue allows me to control the RGB elements using one tool. DDR5 support is great. I don't use the built-in wifi but do use bluetooth, so I'm happy it's there. The BIOS is easy to use, as usual. Overall a fantastic board.

Stylish and powerful

Everything works great, overall I like the motherboard, but there is a problem that does not work wifi, although I specifically bought the version with wifi. I tried many ways to fix the error, even reinstalled several times different versions of Windows and most likely the problem is hardware. I don't want to return the motherboard, but if possible, please help with the problem, Asus

Good board, but there is a defect

Excellent build quality, easy to use bios and lots of features. It is missing a USB bios flashback button however.  It also should have included network drivers in the box as I had to go find them and figure out how to install them before windows 11 setup.  The recommended Armory Crate software is buggy, uses system resources constantly and is unusable.  I will try it again if a newer version comes out as there are some good features if it worked correctly.

I like this board but I never install it

Had a couple of hiccups but once the bios was set properly everything is ok.  But i do wish there were more USB ports.  I can connect a hub though.

Good solid board

The board can only run with memory in 2 of its 4 slots so clearly 128g is out of the question. I am hoping that this will end up addressed with a bios update. Tried multiple speeds and multiple vendor DDR5 system would simply continue to blue screen in minutes with all channels in use.

128g DDR5 not possible

I have been building systems since the late seventies and using Asus products for probably 20 years and my experience trying to get a prime Z7 90 – a Wi-Fi working have been one of my worst nightmares ever in the hundreds of computer systems that I've built.

Asus Is not any help with your mother!
