I have consistently used Asus Maximus Hero Motherboards in all my gaming builds. They are easy to setup with more options the the average user might need but enough for the experience gamer to utilize.

Outstanding Gaming Motherboard

This is an awesome (but dare I say heavy!) board, that yields excellent performance for the purpose of flight simulation and creative editing.  I love the fact that there is the capability of having 5 M2 SDD's (3 native to the board and 2 via the PCIe card supplied with the mother board). This saves on space while not compromising on storage performance.  Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance is superb as well and draw maximum benefit from the capability of modern-day routers. I am very happy with my decision to buy an ASUS brand.

A quality Motherboard that you will be happy with.

Really good motherboard, I upgraded from 1155 socket from 2012 so, upgrade well overdue and wanted the best of the best. Don't bother with the extreme version this will suffice for the next 15 years. Looks great, easy to setup everything one would need. Highly recommend it.

Great Motherboard, you don't need the extreme

Pros: The motherboard is fast and wonderful, and is very power efficient
Everything is still easy to work around for both cable management and access to screws  (I have big hands and never struggles to reach things.)
Now that it is all working.  I am very happy

Cons: Was slightly longer than I was expecting, so there was some finessing to get everything to fit in my case (Fractal Torrent). 
Windows 11 doesn't recognize any of the hardware so having to find the correct drivers and install both Lan and wifi drivers during the initial installation was a bit frustrating to trouble shoot.  (Window would could not find an internet connection during set up until i figured out to download the drivers from Asus  and pre install them from a usb drive)
Kept getting q-code 98 which was from not having anything connected to the CPU-Fan header and finally figuring out where I could turn it on to IGNORE in the bios was incredible frustrating.  (I am using and AIO and with the Fractal Design Torrent case, I am using their fan hub which is plugged into a different fan hub for cable routing purposes) 
You also need to update the BIOS to the latest version to get it to recognize ram running over 6000 mhz and turn on XMP (which was intuitive to find)

Outside of those minor frustrations in set up I have no cons, and they were all very MINOR issues that are now all resolved.  

Overall would recommend the board, and so far am very happy with it.

A beast of a motherboard

Asus sent it out fast great shipping. The Hero Z790 is a work of art. Well made. Most connections are in the right spot on board.
Fire up right up. Overclocking is pretty easy. The sound is great for me more discrete sound card needed. Got my raptor up 6.2 overlooked running steady no blue screen or ruff boot up. Over all very happy with my purchase. Little pricy but worth it.

Z790 HERO is a must have.

Another quality mobo from Asus for big bucks. If you can get past the price (this was the 2nd highest priced Z790 mobo) this mobo is loaded with features that you'll like. Dual bios, bios flashback, a HyperZ card for 2 more NVMe drives, power & voltage controls, pushbutton to release your oversized video card, Q connector, fan brackets, antennae, cables, an info loaded manual, a bios with so many options it'll make your overclocking dreams come true, a good web site for updated drivers and bios, etc. Get one you'll love it.

Another quality motherboard from Asus...

Another solid performer that I have come to expect from the Asus Hero Series. I have used Asus motherboards in all of my builds since the late 90's and have used the Hero line for the last 7. I have been very impressed with the stability of their platform. Asus is my go-to brand and I always recommend them when I build PCs for my friends. The Z790 Hero is no exception. Ran my Gskill DDR5 7600 at 7600 out of the box at XMP1 and I have been able to overclock my 13700k to 6GHz. Can't ask for more than that. Plenty of connectivity options as well. This one also comes with an SSD add in card which looks awesome.

Missing instuctions, questionable design & support. As an example, can't disable "Secure Boot" in BIOS without installing a graphics card even though the motherboard has graphics capability. That means that you can't install Windows from a USB boot. Support personel hang-up when I tried to get help. Hardware reliability is also a problem.
