The core purpose I am using the ASUS platform for is gaming. If you are a committed gamer, the R.O.G Rapture GT-BE98 Pro is a necessity.
I've been using the “ASUS RT-AX88U AX6000 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Gaming Router” since 2021, and after 4 years of loyal service, I have decided to retire the RT-AX88U and overhaul my internet network. So, I treated myself to the ASUS R.O.G. Rapture GT-BE98 Pro Wi-Fi 7 Gaming Router, and FiOS 2Gig.'
Nonetheless, your router is only as good as your network topology; there is no point in having the fastest vehicle with no roads to drive on. Subsequently, I had to upgrade my network switches from 1G ports to 2.5G/10G ports. Also, your AIMesh node has to be able to negotiate at least 2-gig speeds. Consequently, I got the ASUS RT-BE92U and ASUS ZenWiFi BD5, both of which have at least 2.5 Gig ports. For a wired connection, I used a combination of a Cat 8 Ethernet Cable, the ASUS 2.5Gbps Ethernet Over Coax Adapter Starter Kit (MA-25 2-Pack), MoCA 2.5, High-Speed Internet, and Mesh backhaul. If everything is configured correctly, your ASUS interface topology network uplink type should display “Ethernet 2.5 Gig” in glowing green.
Anything smart, like smart lock, smart outlets, smart bulbs, IP cameras, microwave ovens, toys, etc., that only uses the 2.4 GHz protocol, I connected to the Internet of Things (IoT). Therefore, once you set up your Multi-Link Operation (MLO), you will have full access to it, as this band will be fully obtainable on any device.
Everything is working remarkably well. It is also a matter of end-to-end settings: different household circulation, different network settings.
Playing video games is awe-inspiring! My son says that as he is playing online video games, he is cooking.

No drops! All my smart home devices connected easily the 1st time. Coming from a nest pro wifi 6e 3x. This thing offers better coverage than 3 mesh units. I have frontier fios and this thing connects directly from the ont no modem required. Ultimate control. Includes VPN, tracker, adguard, family protection, you can set up multiple networks each with Thier own wifi signal. IDK why I didn't drop Google nest sooner. No more headaches.

Excellent coverage

For my home, this router was kinda overkill. However,
I run up to 13 devices within my condo unit. There are
other networks nearby so may have connectivity issues.
My old setup consisted of wifi 6 router with a second as
a AP to balance the loads. We also do a lot of streaming.
So I initially thought I wouldn't need a second for a AP but
I did to fix connectivity issues, and it works. My last setup,
I would asked to turn off TV to surf from my PC now I don't have 
to. Great investment.

I have been using NETGEAR routers for last 25 years, this was the first time I used ASUS and wow, I am sold to it. It's feature rich, easy to configure, fully secured router. Love its 6GHz two channels.

Quality router

Powerful and Silent. Wish they made something like this in a more conservative looking design that blended in with the background. But the performance is great so far. Biggest thing I can tell you is if you need a decent number of physical ports, like six or more, you might want to get a switch to go with it.

I wanted a router that could handle at least 5gigs, had at least 1 physical port that could handle as much data as it takes in regardless of what that might be for the days where I am the only one on it and stressing it some, whisper silent, strong future proofed speed and wifi and had at least 5 physical ports as well as a strong warrantee and this checked all the boxes. The only thing it is missing for me was something this strong with a design that blended into the background instead of announcing itself. But in the days where everything has to have RGB, I know the flashy stuff is the norm. Just turned the LED lights and that's good enough for my purpose.

Powerful and Silent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I personally have been able to use the on board speed test to show my ISP that I'm not the problem by showing the speed to the unit instead of the speed to my pc which could have latencies. I am also able to run and manage my entire home network on multiple different bands. I've also used the Asus mesh network to set my other Asus router as a node on the other side of my house so that I don't have to run Ethernet through my rental. Lastly, I'm on a 1 Gig line but could easily handle 10 Gigabit from my ISP and through my home.

May be the layout of my house but I even ordered an extender and don't think I'll need it because the range is incredible.

High speed great router with great range must have

Best router I have ever used. Has allot of options and connectivity. Was fairly easy to setup as it was added to my other Asus routers as part of a mesh network i already had prior to purchase. This router really helped clean up allot of the traffic on my network. I like free protection and vpn it provides as well. Definitely worth getting on a discount when you see the price drop.

Super powerful Router!

Great WiFi signal. Lots of advanced tools. I really appreciate the NAT loopback feature I use for my server. Only negative is it's massive size.

I have tested speed and had very fast speed but found that my streaming devices have issues and I have had to restart the router at different times.   I would like to ensure i have optimal setup and looking to update firmware to Merlin ASUS for better control options but want to confirm before moving forward.
