Setup

A great pro level router with lots of features. You can designate your VLAN ids for guest networks, and you can setup splash screens and usage agreements on WIFI access login. I setup personal, business, and kids network all in one place (with extra security and isolation for the kids network)

The VLANs you create are also 802.1q compatible so you can feed your router wired connections into a managed switch and split off your guest networks (if needed) to control the connection to your wired feeds.

The only issue I found was that I cannot change the native/default VLAN id for the router. So the base network is considered untagged (or also VLAN 1) which is not an issue if you are feeding right into a managed switch and controlling things from there. But I would have preferred the option to be able to change my default VLAN id.

Easy VPN setup, setup easy with a cable modem

Router Upgrade, decided on Asus A.I Mesh Router Upgrade, glad I did, created the Mesh wifi and it's awesome.

Powerful Router

Big fan of the RT-AX86 Pro. Has all the bells and whistles a home network might need. Would definitely recommend. Especially when running the ASUSwrt-Merlin firmware.

RT-AX86 Pro for the win!

So far so good. Have been using it for a few days. Stable connection and speed for my 15+ home wifi devices. Has decent build-in parental control features (time schedule weekdays/weekends). Also gives per device usage statistics (used traffic and even web history). Sharing an external hard drive via home network also worked well. Haven't use gaming features, selected this model to have a little power redundancy (it has 4 core cpu) so it will be able to manage multiple heavy connections

Excessively high memory usage routor seemed to be sleeping when I would open apps. It would not respond. Would never recommend to anyone to buy this router? This has been a nightmare.
