This is my second ASUS. My first was a gaming laptop, not for the games but because it was built like a tank. I drag my laptop all over the country so after 11 years I had to buy again and there was never a doubt it would be an ASUS. I am enjoying my new one as much as my old, maybe more since it is considerably lighter. Top of the line, you can't go wrong.

This computer delivers everything it promises or more. My only two regrets are it doesn't have an ethernet port (none available) or a lit keyboard (available but not in stock). So it's only flaws I knew about and accepted.
It is incredibly fast loading and running. It isn't a gaming machine, but for any use short of that, I'm comfortable it will handle it with aplomb and, at least in my case, at a very reasonable price.

Delivers What It Promises!

I am impressed with the 1 TB SSD and 16GB RAM. Very lightweight and responsive. Very sturdy. The only disappointment was no backlit keyboard like my Vivobook 17 Core i5 S712JA-WH54 that I bought at the same time as a backup for my Vivobook 17 Core i7. They are very portable. The Vivobook 17 Core i7 keeps my law firm running. I would buy  both of them again.

I Liked them So Much I Bought Two

I have had my new laptop for only a couple of weeks.  And my only complaint is one many others made about this laptop...the sound is truly too low.  For me to fully hear a movie or tv show I either have to use an external speaker or headphones.  Besides that this is obe really good laptop!

Only 1 thing wrong

Solid little workhorse with just enough power.  Good physical size, thin, low weight.  Screen is good enough and probably saves you a little cash by not being super high end.  Storage at 1TB with a Solid State Driver is great.  I understand others find the processor to be less than average but I've found it to be just fine.  Overall, satisfied.  Things it should have in my opinion, that it does not.  4 standard USB slots plus a USB C would be good. It has the USB C but only 3 standard USB.  I need to use a splitter to make more.  If you are looking for a touchscreen, no gots.  I'm good with that however since I rarely have a need.  Otherwise, its fast with 8gb ram, boots up quick, no lag for my work.  Would buy again, just know its not high end but has what is important to me...big SSD, 8gb ram, and bells and whistles are not there that you don't pay for like touchscreen, 1080p HD, higher end processor.  It's a nice balance.

Just the right stuff in this one.

Good value. Screen more pastel (less vivid) than my previous Asus. Had I known it's not FHD (not 1080) I'd have chosen another model I'd have rather had an SD port than the microSD port. Keyboard key labels are low contrast--hard to see--although maybe that's a good thing since its encouraging me to relearn touch typing. No ethernet port scares me, in case I have WIFI connectivity problems.

It'll do

overall I like this new computer and would but it again. I had been wanting for a new Pentium i7 for a few years. I give it 4 stars. It is far faster than my last one and suitable for what I hoped it would be. However I miss the bolder key pad white on black. This is gray on silver. I failed to notice also that it has no CD player/burner, and fault of mine and the retailer with the buy under pressure of sales hourly countdown to end of sale. ( 6 hours- Which did not end at the hour) and their failure to provide check list of various elements of different laptops. Less important these days.) Out of the box the camera is not working for zoom etc. I assume that can be fixed remotely? I assumed an item bought in a regular store brand (not clearance) new in unopened box would have a full regular 1 year warranty. Wrong. 3 months I think it is.so those things lower my rating to 3 stars.

Fast enough for me- moderate price

The keyboard is not backlit, so seeing the superscript on the number keys is difficult. Plus, the keyboard itself is small - smaller than my last 17-inch laptop... And the mouse pad likes to get "stuck". The screen also has little "seizures" from time to time, making the screen unreadable as you move the mouse across the display.

Nice size, but glitchy

It's exceptionally fast. Granted it's bare bones with regard to features but certainly very functional. The keyboard is disappointing. The letters, numbers and symbols are too light and reflective. Unless you are in a well lit room, a desk lamp doesn't clearly show them. I have another ASUS and it does not have this issue.

Great PC except for the keyboard

The laptop is reasonable and operates ok. The keyboard is a disgrace. I specifically requested backlighting and did not receive that feature. The keyboard is difficult to read and in low light is impossible . The feel of the keyboard is cheap. That alone makes the laptop feel V like junk making you feel like you wasted your money . For this primary reason i would not recommend this laptop at all to anyone.
