Don't undercook meat anymore: With this AccuChef digital instant-read thermometer, you can get accurate readings of the internal temperature of your foods instantly. It's important to get some meat to an internal temperature that is safe for eating. Health Canada suggests using a food thermometer and to check each piece separately if you have more than one piece. The temperature range of this thermometer is 0°F to 450°F / -18°C to 232°C. This is great to use to measure food from the oven, stovetop, or grill. Since you should insert the thermometer through the thickest part of the meat, all the way to the middle and not to the bone to get the internal temperature, you could do that confidently with our fine stainless steel tip that will pierce just enough to give you a reading but without losing all the juicy goodness from your meat. Don't worry about missing the reading: use the HOLD button to retain the reading on the display screen once you have removed the probe from the meat and it will keep the temperature that it measured. Our probe cover can be mounted to the back end to serve as a handle extension. We also added some typical food temperature guides on the probe cover for quick reference. To use your thermometer, turn the unit on and press the °C /°F button located on the back to select your preferred unit of measure. Insert probe at least one inch (2.5 cm) into the thickest part of meat or poultry. Digits will stabilize once the reading is complete. One #G13 battery is included with this thermometer. An auto shut-off features preserves battery life. AccuChef provides a 2-year warranty on this thermometer.

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I tried AccuChef Digital Instant Read thermometer, model 2255 to test the temperature on a chicken casserole I made from scratch with raw chicken, so very important to check temperature. I poked a few spots and temperature reading came back in the cooked range, so that gave me confidence the meal was safe and best of all it didn't make me cut up the nice cheese crust on top.

The probe cover is convenient. The temperature reads accurately and as far as I can tell, to a good degree of precision. It's easy to use, and it's very easy to clean. This is a great little cooking companion and I think it will last for a while.

Handy little thermometer

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. This was my first experience with a digital food thermometer.  I must say- it was really easy to use.  First, the thermometer is a nice size, and the display is located above the probe, so it is easy to read. The display is also good size, which makes it easy to read.  Not only does it tell you the temperature of your food, but it also tells the temperature of the air around it!  It is well designed-compact with the cover on to protect the probe when not in use, and a comfortable fit in your hand while holding. The probe cover also doubles as an extension for the handle, making it long enough to get a reading, while keeping your hand safely away from steam & splatters while cooking.  I like to make sure my meats are well done (although some family members like medium & medium rare) so cooking to the right doneness is easy when you check with this thermometer.  For a quick reference to doneness, you can check your food's temperature against the correct temperature of beef & chicken on the tiny chart on the back of the probe's cover.  This makes it easy to barbeque or grill steaks like a pro!

Cooking by Numbers! Safe and Easy

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I tried the digital instant read thermometer with the thanksgiving turkey this weekend. It was super easy to use as you basically take the lid off, turn it on and then stick the probe into the meat. The reading was instant. You need to push the hold button to retain the reading though otherwise, it quickly decreases when you remove it. I thought I pushed it but must not have pushed it in hard enough and I lost my reading so had to take it again. It is battery operated which I am not super thrilled about as you may go to use it for an important dinner and if the battery is dead, you don't have a thermometer to use .

It's also very affordable and l highly recommend this product to everyone.

Works perfect

I have an old thermometer that takes forever to display the temperature. This one truly is instant.  It comes with a two year warranty and a battery. The slot to change the battery is large and easy to turn. 

The probe is stainless steel and can be cleaned but the unit can not go in the dishwasher. 

It's temperature range is 0 to 450F (-18 to 232 C). 

When you take the temperature, just hold the pause button to keep the temperature displayed. It has an auto off mechanism.

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I have been meaning to buy a meat thermometer and this one seemed easy to read and easy to use in both F or C.  All you have to do in insert into the thickest part. In my case, it was a chicken.  There is a hold button to retain the reading. It has a autoshutoff when done.  Happy to see that you can replace the battery as well.

Easy to use thermometer

I had the opportunity to try AccuChef's Digital Instant Read Thermometer (model 2255), which records internal termeratures of foods and liquids instantly, measuring from -18C-232C. I was glad to try this product as food safety is important to me, especially now with a child. I want our family to be safe, but also enjoy foods that aren't overcooked (to ensure food safety without a thermometer). This thermometer read the temperature of our food (in this case, meats) quickly and gave us peace of mind that our meat was cooked to a safe internal temperature. One feature of the thermometer that was appreciated was the auto-shut off - I didn't have to worry about draining the battery if I forgot to turn it off after checking the temperature of our food. Something else that's beneficial is that the safe internal temperature of common foods are written on the prob cover. No second guessing your memory or having to search online while cooking. This product isn't the best looking, compared to others I've seen, but it certainly does that job. Other products do have a probe that can me folded down into the product, vs a cover, which would be better. If this cover were to slip off there is the risk of getting poked with it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to ensure or check the temperatures of their food.

Does the job well

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I was very excited to try AccuChef´s Digital Instant Read thermometer to determine if my lamb chops were ready to come off the grill. I found it very easy to use, liked the toggle between Celsius and Farenheit and also appreciated the Hold feature, that when pressed retains the reading on the screen, even when the probe is taken out of the food. It also has a handy way of attaching the cover to the end to make it longer, that would be helpful in occasions where you don´t want to get too close. The only thing I wasn´t 100% impressed with was the fact that it was a bit bulky and takes up more room in my drawer than I find is necessary.

Handy efficient food thermometer

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I always use a cooking thermometer but haven't ever found one I really like. I was thrilled to try this Accuchef option. I like how narrow and small the actual unit is - this fits easily in my drawer without issue. I liked the small size of the probe - I always worry that the juices will run out when I use those larger probes, but this one left a barely noticeable hole. My only concern was the heat from my food steamed up the display window, making it difficult to see the numbers occasionally. Overall I was very pleased and would recommend.

Easy to store and doesn't leave a giant hole

I have the fold-out version purchased at Can. Tire.
Had it replaced because first one broke, had to jump through hoops for warranty. Now this one has failed. 
I would not buy it unless you want to buy it again. 
Terrible product in my opinion.
