It's important to get some meat to an internal temperature that is safe for eating. Health Canada suggests using a food thermometer and to check each piece separately if you have more than one piece. This AccuChef meat and poultry thermometer is designed to stay in the food throughout the cooking process and can be used in the oven or BBQ. It has a long 4.5-inch (2.54 cm) stainless steel stem with a sharp point to easily insert into food. It is made with heat-resistant glass that can withstand the heat of the appliances. The 2-inch (5 cm) round dial is in English and French and indicates the meat type and doneness such as beef well-done, beef medium, veal, chicken, etc., and the recommended internal temperature for each one. The internal temperature range is 130°F to 190°F (55°C to 90°C). The packaging also has a handy chart for recommended internal temperature for beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken, and turkey. It is simple to use: set the oven to the desired temperature. Insert the point of the thermometer stem at least 2 inches (5cm) into the thickest part of the meat, not near the bone or gristle. Put meat in the oven with the thermometer in place. Keep the dial facing the oven door for easy reading. When the dial pointer reaches the desired temperature, remove the food from the oven. This compact and lightweight thermometer is great for even a smaller size cut of meat as the dial is not too heavy. A battery or power supply is not necessary to use this thermometer. AccuChef has a 2-year warranty on this thermometer.

This thermometer worked twice and then the needle stuck all the way to the left and will not move at all. Total piece of crap. I would give it 0 stars if that was an option.
