Ease Of Use

I've used similar sharpeners in the past. This one lives up to the billing. It creates an extremely sharp edge. The downside is that it does remove quite a bit of metal in the process. 
Knife purists would probably shun this sharpener,  but for my everyday kitchen knives, I'm happy with it.

This sharpener is a great deal for a cheap price. I took all my big knives and sharpened each one at a time. I discovered that if you press hard and go slowly down the blade of the knife while sharpening with this tool, this will give you the best results. You may have to repeat this process up to eight or ten times. The best way to prove the knife is sharp is to take a piece of paper, hold the paper up and slice the paper straight down with the knife. It should cut the paper with great ease and not crumple up. All of my knives will now cut like butter and hard vegetables are very easy to slice. Don't waste your time with expensive electric sharpening machines. This tool will do almost as good of job. I definitely recommend this sharpener and it fits write into my drawer. Also, Americas Test kitchen recommended this sharpener.

Does the job well.

I have two French chef knives that I love with all my heart. Use them all the time. But a dull knife doesn't work so good, does it? Sharpened them up nicely and they cut so well now!

Works, easy to use, comes with directions and when used according to directions is safe.

I'm not a gourmet chef, but for normal, typical cooking this is a wonderful little sharpener. I ordered this based upon previous reviews and when I received it I thought it was a little light weight and was worried that it would not do the job. Wrong! It sharpened my Henkel kitchen knives beautifully. I would highly recommend this product.

It didn't work as well as I thought it would.

wish I still had my old whetstone--sigh... this will work to a degree, but don't expect miracles, and what you get is a long time coming. Be prepared to put some effort into it to get results.
