This thermostat maintains a very comfortable  temperature in my home. Never had a better unit.
Make certain you completely follow the instructions when setting it up. One of my friends purchased the same model, and had problems with short-cycling. I volunteered to assist him check it out, and we found he had skipped many of the settings for the type of system he's running. Once we matched the settings to his system - it now works like a charm.
I have recommended this model to family and friends, and they've purchased it. They are all happy with it's performance.

I've installed 3 of these; 2 for both of my homes and 1 for a cousin.  All 3 have performed perfectly for the last 2 years.  I'm a degreed engineer but not a professional in the area of heating/air conditioning.  Easy to operate particularly as we vary the schedule when we are out of town and of course when we return.  Thanks Honeywell.

Terrible says programmable but does nothing after hitting menu
Ridiculous product

Horrible and not programmable

I just installed today, but it gives very short cycling of turning on my AC almost every 5 minutes after AC turns off. And it turns on and off without changing room temperature. It should be turns on when room temperature is 1 degree above the setpoint, and turns off when room temperature is 1 degree below the setpoint. But this Honeywell thermostat doesn't. I set the setpoint temperature is 74 degree. It should be turns on when room temperature is 75 degree, and turns off when room temperature is 73 degree. But this Honeywell thermostat is on and off even when the room temperature is 74. So, it turns back on every 5 to 6 minutes after off my AC while my old one turns back on every 40 ~ 60 minutes after turns off in hot summer day.I don't recommend this thermostat.

Very disappointed

I'm an AC contractor, so I installed it myself. Works great,when it works the way it is supposed to. Today, I noticed the compressor was running but the indoor fan was off. I check the t-stat and there is NO call for cooling. So I go outside and sure enough, the suction lines were frosted and the compressor sounded like it was getting liquid back. I disconnect the compressor and check the contactor, it was good not stuck closed. Went inside and started messing with the t-stat. In cool mode, I set the temp higher(77) than the house temp(75)and the “cool on” is indicated. I go back to 75, “cool on” turns off. I go down to 73, “cool on” turns on and won't turn off until I set it to 80.(I understand there is a delay. I waited for the t-stat to respond each set point). I understand parts go bad but this thermostat is less than 2 years old(with new batteries. I changed them before messing with it). My biggest gripe is that I was just about to go to sleep. So that means my compressor could have ran all night flooded with liquid refrigerant.

So there are several features advertised on the Honeywell website that these thermostats don't actually have, or at least they don't tell you how to use them.

Right on this page it says this thermostat is Wifi Capable, but it isn't and doesn't say anything in the instructions about getting it connected to Wifi.

Alos on Honeywell's 6/22/22 update, it states the T5 thermostat has a screen lock feature so the temperature can't be changed on the screen, but only through the app.  Again the installation guide does not cover this feature.

Advertised Features it doesn't really have.

Very short cycling of turning on my AC almost every 5 minutes after AC turns off. The coil in my AC unit froze. My old Honeywell Magic Stat worked much better with the proper cycle time. The older units had vents for proper temperature measurements where this unit does not have that.

Short Cycling

Installation instruction based on previously installed thermostat. So if it was done to industry standards I'm sure it works. BUT this one is not color coded to standards and terminals on previous (Honeywell) of no use as cross reference. And can't get a schematic which is needed to do testing and determine proper pin connections. Only good thing about the new model is that it prompted me to get the old one back in operating condition.  So... throwing it in the bin for a few years.
