Fairly easy assembly, the two bulbs put out a nice warm glow (I'm using 60w incandescents).  The foot switch works crisply and I'm happy with it.  

I did not give 5 stars because the base is wood painted black rather than a dark-grained wood as I expected.  The lamp initially had a mild odor which has since dissipated (or I just no longer notice) which I presume relates to the paint.  In addition, while there is no reason to handle the base once the lamp is in its location, the base is not sanded very smooth and poses a minor splinter risk for kids (if you're really concerned, you could smooth it with sandpaper.

At this price, I expected better. One side of the shade is pushed in and is concave from top to bottom. I cannot push it out. It is supposed to be square all the way up. I don't want to be bothered with a return so I will just always keep the lamp positioned so the concave side is toward the wall. At this price, I should not be dealing with this.
