I needed a tow behind tine de-thatcher/ rake to prep my yard for fall over seeding. The 40" tine de-thatcher worked great. Assembly was reasonably easy. More weight worked really good on the larger bare spots. And less weight worked better on the thicker areas of lawn.
I am glad that I decided to get it.

Works really well. I am very impressed at how well, and how much thatch it removed.  

My only complaint would be the how the handle works to raise the tines when you want to move without them touching the ground. It needs to be stiffer. Maybe a pole type handle would be better that a thin strip of steel. Also, though I can pull the handle back a raise the times well off the ground, the handle falls back before resting against where it catches and this leaves the tines just barely above the ground. I’d feel more comfortable if I could get the handle to stay at the point where the tines are the highest point.

I bought this at the end of last summer and used it. I was pleased with how well it worked even on some uneven ground. It really pulled up a lot of thatch. I have my mower set at 4.5" height so parts of my yard also had grass the was laying down and didn't get cut. The de-thatcher pulled most of that up so it gets cut now. I love that it's made in the USA too.

Works great

Performed exactly as expected, so no surprises. I had to get off occasionally to free the tines of thatch, as described by other reviewers. Well worth the money, considering how much it costs to rent one. Granted, it’s not a commercial unit, but it will pay for itself in a year or two.

Well worth the money!

It works as expected. I'd like to see a different way to secure the blocks as the ratchet strap hooks I used got in the way and the blocks didn't sit flat. I wound up just going all the way around. I also put a thin piece of rubber under the blocks to keep the paint protected.

Does what it's supposed to do.

Works pretty well. The raise/lower handle a little flimsy but overall I'm satisfied

Tried for the first time today

I bought for the fall. Was easy to assemble but took some time.
The tines were tough to bend down the metal tabs. I had to use a ball pine hammer.
First run it really dug down deep and I did not know how to adjust depth. Don't think it has an adjustment for depth. Should be or I may be reseeding in some areas.

The reason for this rating is because I ordered this item at least twice. The first time I bought it, the item was manufactured wrong which prevented me from using it. The second time O ordered it, the item was missing an "arm lever" which caused me to take it apart and return it back. Once I get one that I can use, I will update the rating accordingly. This has set me back from detaching my yard for over 40 days.
