This is a tool no one should be without, especially if they have pets. I had one of these that I bought way pack in the late 80's and it was still in one piece when I lost it in a move some 20 years later.  They are generally really sturdy. This particular one has a nifty feature where you can flip the head around so left handed people won't have to hold it at awkward angles when they use it. It will remove most pet hair, making the really interwoven ones easier to see and remove.

Our washer and dryer are a useless apartment sized vertical unit. The laundry always comes out covered in this fine dark lint, even on the towels. You go to dry off after a bath and you can see the lint on your skin. It's all over my t-shirts, too. But, a few swipes with this little beauty and no more lint! While you can just use your hand to remove the hair and lint from the brush, the fastest way to get a very clean brush is to take a fine toothed comb and run it in the same direction you would to remove the lint by hand. In just a few sweeps, the brush is clean and ready to be used again.  

Seriously, no laundry room should be without one and keeping an extra in the car will keep you looking good for work, too.  People will start to wonder if you've gotten rid of your pets. :-D
