I was a bit worried when I ordered this that it would be really bad quality, but fortunately, I had nothing to worry about. it works great. It works in a fashion similar to a mechanical pencil and the chalk shows up great on all the material I've tried it on so far. Very handy, cheap, and chalk reloads are available as well. Yay!

Inexpenive and Super Handy

I purchased this from Amazon for much more. I took a chance to see if Wal-mart had it. I was delighted to find it with free site to store and a lower price. This is basically a mechanical pencil with chalk instead of lead. Great for marking fabric. Use the white because the color chalks are hard to remove from the fabric. Love it!

Great idea for tailor's chalk

I do sewing, applique and quilting, and this marker set works well for me. There's a variety of colors of chalk, so there's always a color that will work with whatever fabric I need to mark. You don't get the fine line of a ceramic marker, but you don't need the fine line of a ceramic marker all the time, either. You can sharpen the point to get a fairly fine line, but this is chalk, so the sharpness only holds for initial marking. It's very easy to change colors, and I haven't had one of the chalks break yet. This seems to be the same set that's sold under other names, like Dritz, except it sells for less under the Allary name, so this one is the better buy.

Handy Chalk Marker

I have been using this to stencil my quilt and  it does not run off easy.
So as I am moving around my small quilt frame to hand quilt it is not rubbing off.

Hand quilting

I saw the same item on Michael's website for twice the price.  It's so much easier to use than the triangle type chalk.

I love this product because you can use the color on your material that is easily seen by you and it comes out without staining your project.

I use this for marking quilting designs on my quilt and it works great. I can easily change the chalk to a different color so the markings show up on all different colors of fabric. The chalk is much easier to work with than the marking pencils I have used before.

Great quilt marking tool!

I had little or no trouble removing the chalk from fabric. I bought this to mark cloth, so far so good. Hard to get refill chalk though, or what I did find was very costly for what it was.

okay I  love this, i have been looking for a thin chalk that deaws like a pencil  this is perfect. im an artist and i like to sketch on my canvas before i paint, all the chalk i could find either the chalk made to fat of lines the colored chalk  would stain the canvas and smeared. so this is perfect im super happy

fabric chalk

It would have been a perfect buy if not for the fact that all the white except three were broken! The colors were solid, the whites were crumbles. :(  Nothing much I can do with many of those. So disappointing.

Looked like just what I wanted

I bought this to use on My menu board in the kitchen but it won't write on it, I was very disappointed!
