Bottom line: Altra, please go back to making this shoe in wide sizes, and please give options for the many folks with small but wide feet! I'm not alone when I say that folks want this shoe in wide and short-wide sizes too (7-8 wide!) I wear a 7.5 shoe normally, but had to get a half size up because altra doesn't make this shoe in 7.5. Even wearing a size 8, the lone peaks's rubber sole siding digs in to the side of my foot. As to whether I'd recommend it, it's hard. If you have healthy, narrow feet, you will like this shoe. If you have a wide foot or a small size, Altra has left you behind.

Too narrow, Altra needs to invest in more sizes

When is Altra going to start listening to its customer base? 1) No one here cares about $10/ $15 added cost and wants Vibram megagrip to have a more reliable shoe. We depend on this sole out in the mountains. Claw is way inferior regardless what improvements you advertise. 2) please come to your senses and make shoe colors normal again - all black, grey - we want to wear them on the street, school, work. Altra, are you reading the reviews from last year about the colors? Why doubling down on it?

Add Vibram and change colors

I used to brag about my Altras when I had the 6's, but I have alot of issues with the newer generations. For starters, the colors are aweful and continue to get worse. I can't understand why you choose to not have more neutral colors. Bright shoes aren't for everyone. Another thing, you need to use vibram instead of the maxx trax. I don't understand why some of your shoes have vibram and others do not. Vibram is superior and why limit what your shoe quality? Also, you decided to do away with the stitching on the toe, which was also a bad move. The previous generation shoe I had I loved, but didn't have the stitching, and that was the first thing to start coming apart. Bottom line, I was in love with these shoes, but the last two generations of lone peaks have been a big letdown.

Won't buy another pair until you fix some things

I absolutely LOVED Altra Loan Peak shoes. I've had worn then for 8 years. Probably had 12 pairs. Everything from hiking 1000's of miles, yard work, working out, hanging out and even TTG events. Wear then until total failure of shoe. Now avoid them completely. Shoes are awesome. BUT the COLORS ARE ABSOLUTILY STUPID. Now I wear GO RUCK shoes. The entire team at Altra who's in charge of colors needs to be fired!

Colors are out of control!!

I ran in lone peaks for the last few years. Quality is poor, outsole is junk. I'm done.

Altra lost me.

I have had a pair of Lone Peak 8 for less than a month, the rubber and mesh materials above the toes has already started separating. Use of the shoes has been casual wear (around job sites), and two hikes. Altra touts themselves as a high end, quality brand, that they are not, and if dive into their past reviews it shows this. Customer service has also been poor, I have received emails back from three different people, with different instructions. Altra does not do direct exchanges or replacements, I have to return the item, and then re-purchase it.

Poor quality and poor customer service

Since being acquired, Altra have ruined the Lone Peak by changing the design of the toe box so it is no longer 'foot shaped' and far too narrow. Their motivation for this is to attempt to appeal to a broader swath of customers, but in doing so, have simply alienated (former) devotees. At the same time, the Lone Peak in 'Wide' is, in practice, unavailable because of absurdly small production runs. To claim the Wide is an option is nothing more than a disingenuous platitude. Extremely disappointed.

Altra have ruined the Lone Peak since being acquired

I've been trail running with these shoes for 4 months. After only 4 months the side of my shoes seam broke leaving a gapping hole as shown in the picture. For trail running shoes to break after only 4 months of use is pretty ridiculous. I asked customer service for a replacement, but they were not helpful. 1/5 For Product 1/5 For Customer Service

Low Quality Product and Poor Customer Service

I am cursed with wide feet and when I found this brand years ago, it felt as if the shoe gods were finally smiling down at me. With that said, what happened y'all?! You were the best, now your product has gone down hill. I thought the whole point of your company was natural feeling shoes. Make true wides again, and don't only give wide options with the ugliest color option. I still have hope, for line peak 9s. Don't fail me and my fellow hobbits

MAKE ALTRA WIDE AGAIN

Bought my first pair of Altra Lone Peak 8's after reading many reviews and hearing common quality control complaints. I bought the shoes online from a 3rd party vendor. I had the shoes for less than a month before the toe cap started to separate from the mesh. Contacted Altra and they told me because I bought from a third party vendor who was not part of their authorized retail list they would not issue a replacement. Not even a month of ownership and less than 15 miles of use. If Altra can't stand behind their product and do better quality control, I don't think I can recommend or use these shoes.
