This traditional piece is at home in any fine study, office, library, upscale restaurant or scientific laboratory. The rich, lacquer finished wood framed cherry weather station measures temperature (F), barometric pressure (mbar and inHg) and humidity (%). The glass bezels display an air of quality and accuracy one would expect with a fine, handcrafted weather instrument from Ambient Weather.Note:Barometer only operates to 3,000'. Do not order if you live above 3,000'. Avg barometric pressure is 29.92 around the world. Typically, 29.50 to 30.50 is the range. Anything lower is a tropical depression or hurricane. Your barometer may not move more than 1-1.25 inHg per day (+/- 0.5-0.625 inHg).

It's useful to know the interior temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity inside the house and my thermostats don't have temperature readings.  You can set the adjustable needle on the barometer to line up with the current pressure and then when it changes, like from fair to rain, give it a hard tap in the center for the dynamic needle to move to the current barometric pressure so you can see the difference.  

I like the cherrywood finish and there's a really neat and informative manual that comes with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, the 3 cases that measure temp, humidity, and barometric pressure were placed in the case crooked, giving it a lousy appearance. Secondly, before I purchased this particular station, I had checked on the web to find out if the temp and humidity settings could be adjusted manually in case they were not accurate. Two sources said they were adjustable. Well, they were not. The humidity measurement read 15% lower than it actually was and the temp gauge was inaccurate also.

Not accurate and poor craftsmanship.

It's fine if you want to stay lost because it definitely doesn't point North!!
