This unit was easy to assemble, and the finished product fits in nicely with our furniture. It is shorter than a standard metal 2-drawer, but the drawers are the same size, so still highly functional. All in all, a very good value.

Fits decor and works well

I found that once I put in pendaflex holder and manilla folders inside the pendaflex, the top tab of the manilla folders were too high. Now I have to be careful when closing and opening the drawers as the tabs catch. Nice product but it needs a little more height.

Nice to look at, but short on height

I had no great expectations for this product when I bought it. I just needed an inexpensive file cabinet but did not want metal or cardboard. This one fits the bill. It was easy to assemble and works fine. It doesn't look like a fine piece of furniture and probably won't hold up under heavy usage, but it suits my purposes just fine.

Good Deal for the Price

I was downsizing from a house to a retirement apt, so needed to go from a 4-drawer file cabinet to a 2-drawer one. I ordered this one online. It arrived in a heavy, flat box - had to be assembled. I have the tools, so I tried, but couldn't figure the assembly out. My grandson finally was able to do it, but even he had trouble. It is a nice color & goes well with my other furniture, and seems fairly sturdy. My main complaint is that it is much smaller than a regular 2-drawer file cabinet. I had organized my file things in half from the 4-drawer file cabinet, but this is so small that it won't hold it. Not sure what I will do. I am frustrated. The picture looks like a regular size, 2-drawer file cabinet.

Much smaller than expected

It took 3 days to deliver and the box is in good shape. But when I was half way assembling the cabinet I've notice that some of the hole were not aligned. Good thing I have my drill handy. The drawer is to small, if you put the tab on the folder it wont closed all the way. The hole in the handlle was not aligned. You have to force to tightened the screw.

don't waste your money!

Please note that the back of this file cabinet is heavy cardboard that you tack on. That was a big dealbreaker for me. The drawers do not have anything in them that holds the files upright if you opt out of hanging files. The depth is nowhere near the size of a standard file cabinet. Appearance wise, it isn't that bad if you don't look closely at it. Would not hold up for every day use that is for sure.

Cardboard Back

I am very sorry I made this purchase because of the following:

1. On-line measurements said the file cabinet was 26" high - It was 24 1/8" high. I decided to keep it anyway - bad mistake.

2. Besides being shorter than I expected it was small all around - I know because I made the mistake of putting it together.

3. I have just finished trying to put my hanging files in the drawer - the drawer is so small I can't have a label on the folder because the drawer is not deep enough.

I obviously would not recommend this product unless you want a itty-bitty file cabinet that you can't put a label on.

As a mechanical engineer by day and carpenter by night as a hobby this should have been a snap. However it is impossible to put together correctly. Nothing lines up and the draws stick. I made sure the cabinet was completly square but that has not helped. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. If you read a review that says otherwise it's because they either work for walmart or work for the manufacturer of the cabinet. I WILL PROBABLY TOSS IT IN THE GARBAGE AND BUY A REAL METAL FILE CABINET AT SOME POINT.

Waste of time

The drawers are way too short - top to bottom - for regulation hanging files. The tabs bend and some snapped off when I shut the drawers. The drawers do not open all the way, and you have to take some files out, reach into the back of the drawers and pull the others forward to get to the ones in the back. VERY poor design, if you ask me. You'd think it would be the size of regular filing cabinets. If I hadn't put it together already, I would return it in a New York minute. It was not the color that was depicted online. The one online appeared to be more of a maple color and this one was dark brown, although it said it was "alder." not satisfied at all. I should have bought a metal one.

This file cabinet doesn't meet the simple and basic purpose of a cabinet because the tabs in the hanging folders, overlap with frame of the cabinet so the drawers don't close !!!!!! This is a terrible design defect !!!!!
