This Desk is perfect for both large and small home offices with its small foot print and offers 2 levels of desk space with the added riser. The L-shape makes it easy to place the Desk either in the corner or middle of the room to define your space as needed. The black oak woodgrain finish coordinates with almost any décor, while the laminated particleboard desktop and powder-coated metal legs give this Desk a sturdy build along with a fun design. The desk top is large enough to hold your laptop, notebooks, and office essentials while the riser can be used to keep items close by but out of your way.  The metal hairpin legs are a fun throwback to popular mid-century design.  The L Desk with Riser ships flat to your door and requires assembly upon delivery. complaints are that its packed with Styrofoam %26 fiberglass, like straight in the box. a little alarming.
also, assembly is not for the faint of heart, and i wish the riser was just an inch higher. a bit wobbly, too.

This desk is very cute and very sturdy, however, the two different pieces of the desktop do not fit together perfectly. The holes were drilled too close together in production that there is a gap where the two pieces of wood are supposed to meet, exposing the little wood sticks that are meant to keep them in place. It's not big enough to look absolutely horrible, but it is only a minor convenience to my obsession for things to fit perfectly together. Also keep in mind that since the legs point out slightly, the dimensions may be slightly different than listed, but only by maybe half an inch or so. I could have very well gotten a faulty product in regards to the gap, but just wanted to mention it. Otherwise, the desk is great, gives me tons of space and looks very cute in my space.

Small faulty gap between top pieces

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been on the lookout for a minimalist style desk for our home office and I also wasn't looking to spend $1,000. At first I was not impressed when UPS delivered a box rewrapped in brown paper because half of the original box was open. See the photo below. Fortunately, all pieces were accounted for. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble so way faster than any IKEA bought desk. I really liked the color. You can see it against my dark brown distressed table. The thin metal iron legs are so nice it gives an architectural feeling and keeps it less heavy than a standard traditional table leg. I love the L shape feature the most because it gives me space to have a computer and work on paperwork without feeling on top of myself. I wouldn't get a traditional desk again. Love love this desk for the price especially very well made!

Minimalist Desk for Home Office or College

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ameriwood Home Griffin L Desk with Riser was easy to assemble, it took to people and 30 minutes to do so. The industrial design gives the room a modern look and it's big enough to place a PC and a laptop. Even when it doesn't appear, it is very sturdy and combines with any color. In my case I purchased it for my daughter's room, which is pink now, and the shair desk is pink as well, she loves it, and now she is a kid but when she grows up and change the wall colors, the desk will still match the style.

Good desk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This desk was simple enough to put together because it didn't have any intricate parts that can be installed backwards or upside down. It looks clean and neat set up in my guest bedroom. This is a great piece for casual use, but not practical for heavy daily use. I really love the color, too!

This company put together a well built, easy to put together product. It only took me about a half an hour to put together. The desk is beautiful and I am extremely happy with it. I would recommend this company's products to anyone!

Desk is exactly what I was looking for. The riser is perfect for my 2nd monitor. My only disappointment was that there were several scratches to the finish upon opening the box.
