Quality

I purchased one of these units for a gift last summer. When my grandson asked for a radio for his upcoming birthday, I did not hesitate to buy the same radio again. It has excellent sensitivity and a very pleasant tone (bass and treble are adjustable). I have been an amateur radio operator and radio enthusiast for over fifty years. This is the best portable am/fm radio I have ever owned.

Bought this radio to replace the 40-year-old Coby my mother gave me years ago. It was an excellent radio, but doesn't work anymore, so I needed a new one. Searched everywhere, and cannot find another Coby like mine, so I bought this one. I work in a steel mill in the crane, and this radio comes in loud and clear. I am very pleased with this one.

This is my 2nd one of these.  I have tried several other radios and this Sangean model is the best. 

Pros: 1)  The sound is rich and full with good bass.  2) Excellent battery life.  Cheaper radios do not have voltage regulators, so the sound gets tinny quickly as the batteries lose voltage.  I use NIMH rechargeable AAs in these.  And they last 6 months + in these radios with 1 - 2 hours per day usage.  The batteries work down to 0.9 volts each and the radio still sounds great.  Cons: None.

Outstanding Portable Radio

This radio is perfect. Just the right size to sit on the table by my chair for those quiet times when I just like to be quiet and read or nap and listen to my favorite radio station. Small but exactly right.

Relaxing

We needed a portable radio for the bathroom that didn't need to be in the shower or waterproof. The reception is great, sound quality excellent, and very easy to use!

Sound quality excellent size great only problem is handle . Wish it was built in not a ribbon that can easily detach.

The best radio I have had in 40 years

Nice sound, good reception. Runs quite a while on 4 AA batteries.

Good value

I purchased this radio after hurricane Sandy because I did not have a battery operated radio. When I received it, I listened to it and has interference when you try to find certain stations. But it will do if I need a radio when we don't have power.

An oK radio

The power cord should have been part of the package even if it cost more. It was not indicated on the ads. Battery use is not healthy to the environment and will cost more in the long run. I may need to return the radio if I can not find a power cord for this. The AM signal is weak and don't work in the basement of a three floor building but FM signal was okay.

not that great.

I decided to buy this radio because it is a basic analogo radio for my mother to understand. However the radio does not includ the adapter. I had tried different types of adapter to use it without the batteries but it has been very unsuccessful. The radio works only with batteries. Also poor quality of sound. I believe its too expensive for what you can do with. I will return it.
