The 85W MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection. When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel. Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage. This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Value For Money

Cord prone to splitting due to its thinness.

Offers lower cost compared to similar products.

Great charger, especially for the price! And compatible with my 2010 Macbook Pro.

Great Charger!

walmart.com

I've gone through several of these power cords during the ownership of my Macbook Pro, as Apple refuses to design a better transformer without the weak thin wire connection that breaks frequently over time. My purchase from Walmart fulfilled expectations of a genuine Apple part, which also arrived promptly as promised.

Accurate Replacement

I will start by saying this is NOT a genuine Apple product. However, it is a viable replacement. Within the first hour a chair had bumped into the charger while plugged into the socket and the plastic surrounding the plug broke off. It was a quick fix with some super glue but it goes to show the quality is not top notch. I would recommend using the longer cable that comes with the original charger to avoid this issue.

Charges my laptop not the greatest quality.

It does this intermittent charging thing of my computer where it charges for a few minutes then it stops and then starts up again. Throwing constant messages to my computer. Probably worth it to buy the nicer one from Apple or maybe get lucky.

Works but not correctly

Buyer be aware this is not an OEM product so you will not get an Apple warranty. It's obvious from the weight of the supply, the lack of packaging, and the quality of the print job on the box.

Beware - not an OEM product

Was happy to see online at great price. Since my original was starting to wear, I figured from Walmart would be safe purchase. NOT THE CASE! Being a long time apple product user I immediately thought something was off when I received and opened the package to find an inferior product. The numbers were the same but cable was way thinner. The Model number and package diagram shows power cable included but was clearly not. Also started to heat up faster than normal.
So DISAPPOINTED and wanting to make sure I wasn't mistaken I actually went to apple (as well as BestBuy)and purchased what was described in the item description from the Walmart site. VERY DIFFERENT! Both apple and Best Buy were the same as the original one. The Walmart site one JUNK!
Here are some pics. One pic shows the two together (left is original style)/ Right is KNOCK OFF Junk. The other shows missing logo.
  DO NOT BUY!!!!!

BEWARE!! Cheap knock off. Fake FRAUD!!!!

Although the charger seems to work okay, it is not an actual Apple charger. At the time I order the charger the description listed it as an OEM product, it's not. The charger weighs significantly less than the original Mac Book Pro charger and build quality is clearly not Apple. Wish I had read other reviews before I purchased and not assumed I was purchasing a real Apple charger.

Not a real Apple product

I ordered it weeks ago. It's still not here. I guess it's coming from China, via paddle boat...

Where is it?

I will be sending this product back to Walmart. It does not work. What a waste of time. I will never shop at walmart.com again.

The product does not work

Charger does not fit perfectly, although it does connect after moving it around. The big issue/problem is that it makes the screen of the laptop cycle through fades of brighter and a bit darker. This is very distracting while working on laptop.

Does not work properly

Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro) front-facing white AC power brick with attached MagSafe T-style magnetic DC cable, LED charge indicator at connector head, cable wound around adapter for compact storage, included AC cord and fold-flat prongs visible; often used as a compact travel charger for mobile MacBook Pro work.
