Arctic Monkeys AM [LP] Vinyl. If Arctic Monkeys launched a tentative retreat on Suck It & See, their first effort after being seduced by Josh Homme, the group once again forge ahead into bold new territory on AM, their fifth album. Neatly splitting the difference between the band's two personalities -- the devotees of barbed British pop and disciples of curdled heavy rock -- AM consolidates Arctic Monkeys strengths, a tricky task in and of itself, but the band pushes further, incorporating unapologetic glam stomps, fuzzy guitars, and a decidedly strong rhythmic undercurrent. At times, AM pulses to a distinctly danceable rhythm -- "Fireplace" percolates while "Why Do You Only Call Me When You're High" simmers and "Knee Socks" nearly rivals Franz Ferdinand in disco rock -- but this isn't an album made for nights out; it's a soundtrack for nights in. Too much of Alex Turner's mind is preoccupied with love gone wrong, jealousy, and general misanthropy, so even when he's singing about a "No. 1 Party Anthem," he's doing so with a nearly visible sneer. Such an undercurrent of cynicism makes AM an ideal album to listen to under the cover of darkness, but due to the Arctic Monkeys' muscular wallop and musical restlessness, it never feels like the band is wallowing in bleakness. Instead, this is vibrant, moody music that showcases a band growing ever stronger with each risk and dare they take. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Great service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever I need to listen to music when I'm doing homework or studying I pull this out and listen to it till I need to flip it and done with everything

Loves how it plays

this album helped shape me as a teen in the mid 2010s and this album is the best angsty teen album ever made!!!

A great vinyl for a husband who is a long time fan. Worked great and purchased the 2 year protection plan so will update if I ever happen to use it and see how the process goes.

Great vinyl, packaged perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. So, we haven't opened or used it yet

I love the Arctic Monkeys! This album is great, but it skips a lot on the B-Side. I don't know if it's a manufacturer error, or if it got damaged in delivery somehow, the A-Side sounds good, but the B-Side skips on almost every song at least a couple of times.

Great album but skips a lot!

My vinyl record had a piece of melting plastic preventing my record to play completely. It stopped at the third song and kept replaying over and over.

Good I suppose.

This was super disappoint. I love this able but I cant even play this vinyl. Every song scratches and skips terribly. The one good thing was that it came quickly. I would not recommend this.

Unplayable

Bought as a Christmas gift for my daughter and as soon as we popped it on the record player it was skipping songs brand new out the package.

Skips songs right out the package

ordered once and had to return it because it was skipping. ordered a replacement and that one skipped too. ive bought other vinyls from walmart that were fine but this one isnt worth it.

not worth it

Arctic Monkeys AM [LP] Vinyl centered, front-facing retail shot of the album sleeve with a partially extracted vinyl LP showing the Domino center label and visible band name and album title on the sleeve; often collected by vinyl enthusiasts and suitable for home listening setups.
