Started first pull as advertised.  I use it to clear down around our section of the lake.  It rips right through real tall grass and weeds.  There is some pretty tough stuff down there and it does the job.  I still try and take a mower back across, because it can be a little uneven.  The line that came with it still cuts good and I've used it several times now.

I have had the Earthquake String Trimmer for several months.  I have about 6 acres mostly wooded.  It is great clearing trails, trimming along the road and along the edges of the property.  Starts first pull every time and runs like a champ.

Powerful

Very happy with this equipment. Better than I expected. Good value. Powerful engine. Good sized wheels facilitate cutting on uneven ground. Starts easily. No negatives from me.

Great trimmer

I like the steel ball and believe it will hold up much better than models with plastic balls.  The trimmer line seems to last a long time.  The engine starts easily and has plenty of power.  My main complaint is the weight but I understand it is necessary to have such a good product that will hold up over time.  I am 66 years old with a sloped lawn so moving this around is somewhat of a chore.  If the unit was self-propelled that would make it an excellent machine.

Very nice machine

This is a great product for the money, and does exactly what it advertises, and more!
It mowed down grass that was knee to waist high with no problems whatsoever.
Handles easily to trim around trees, stumps and fence posts.
The only reason I did not give the product a 5 is because it is quite awkward to adjust the tension on the belt drive for the string pulley.

Does a great job, awkward to adjust belt tension

I like it but starts hard after sitting unused for a long stretch. Have learned to prime it much more than recommended and then it will finally start. After first extended use in very warm weather when engaging belt slipped alot. Tensioned it up and better but expect to have to get a new belt next season, seems like that shouldn't be that way yet.

Easy to use

Seems like the engine has plenty of power but the spool clutch slips and bogs down in heavy weeds.  Wish there was a way to tighten the clutch a bit to keep the string spool spinning.

Lots of power

I bought this to weed eat. It is one of the hardest machines to start and keep going! When it does start it's a really good machine. But it's a pain to start and keep going. Might be nice if it had electric start.

I was disappointed that on the 2nd time of use the bottom metal cap cover broke. Took months to get a replacement part so for the interm I had to pay someone to weld a repair so it could be used safely. Otherwise a fantastic machine.

Works very well

I bought these strings with my Earthquake.  Did not like.  Noisy, came unraveled and frayed.  Made the machine seem to work harder.  Not nearly as good as the strings that came on the Earthquake.
