The cooking pot is thin aluminum with a sturdy coating. This size is good for me. I can cook enough rice for a family or a one pot meal for two. I am experimenting with a complete meal for two now. Rice in the bottom of the pot with salmon on top of the rice. White rice button and added the steam tray with asparagus on it when the rice is about halfway done.

My first modern, not a dial-up timer rice cooker. I like it (4 cup), just a little hard to read the buttons until I can memorize it, ugh.. Now I'm gonna add a 6 cup rice cooker to my collection(differen brand, buttons on top) only to make more recipes in it. I already have a Mealty Multipot pot but, liking these rice cookers!

Stays on the counter.

I think that this is very easy to use and it takes no time to put in push the button and wait and it keeps it warm if you are finishing the rest of your meal.  I like how you can change the amount for overall cook so if only 1 or for more I can cook the right amount   I like the size of this and it does not take up too much space on my countertop, as I use it quite often.  It does not take that much to cleaning it than washing the insert and wiping off lid with warm damp rag to remove all remaining rice.

Simple and easy to clean

This unit is easy to use, a great use of space and compactability. I love the way I can saute my veggies and proteins so easily. The price was great also!

I got this rice cooker to replace the one I had for almost 10 years that finally died. This new one has a tiny plastic cup on the side to catch extra moisture. I have used the steamer 6 times to make rice, a noodle side dish and instant mashed potatoes. It never caught a drop. If this little cup breaks I will probably put duct tape over the hole because I cannot see buying a replacement cup. All the moisture comes out of a small vent on the top lid. It does a great job cooking whatever you put into it---but it is a little slow. My old machine took about 20-minutes to d o a batch of rice. This machine takes 30-45 minutes.  The other thing I do not like is the top lid is attached and non-removable. My old cooker, the top came off and went right into the dishwasher. Also the latch button that keeps the top closed does not seem sturdy enough to last almost 10-years like my old machine. Still, for the affordable price, I will keep the machine and use it often.

Works Great Has Minor Flaws

I love the saute and simmer setting and use it to boil pasta (lid open) a few times a week. For one-pot meals, it's kind of perfect. I love it for packaged dry pasta and rice side dishes, too. There is a learning curve, but it's worth taking the time to adjust. I do wish the unit came with an additional steaming basket that's bigger than the one included for weekly meal prepping. 

-1 ⭐️ because the slow cooker feature is a bit too hot, and the lid design is not optimized for cleaning. I've owned an Aroma rice cooker with the same lid in the past. It still sucks, as you can't remove the metal plate to give it a thorough wash in the sink. Because of that, I leave the lid open overnight after use and a good wipe with a damp cloth and a dry towel to eliminate any strong food odors.

In all, this is an awesome multicooker that I've used many times every week since May, 2025. This saves on my electric bill because I'm not using my stove top.

It's way too small, it's says 6-8 cups that's a Ly!! It makes only 3-4 cups, that's false advertisement. I'm a big fan of the name brand. I've had bigger ones that you can make 20 cups of rice and I loved it.. I don't buy any other brands for my rice cooker, but this one.

False advertisement on this rice steamer!!

Impossible to clean the lid. Unlike other 8 cup Aroma rice cookers the inner lid cannot be removed for cleaning. When I tried to clean the oatmeal from the lid the rubber gasket pulled away and I can't get it back in or clean the residue from the lid.

I expected the cooker to work without any issues. I didnt like the way the rice is being cooked. I feel that its alot grainy after it being cooked. If I add more water the stem vent keep popping the liquid out and that liquid settles on top of the cooker. 
One another disadvantage, i usually use half rice and half quinoa and cook it together. I observed that quinoa gets stuck to the lid on top and you cant remove the lid to clean it. Its a big hassle to clean when you cant get the lid out completely. Portion of the quinoa gets stuck in the steam vent and if you forget to clean the quinoa will be spoiled in a day or two  and it stinks on the counter. You need to remove the steam vent and you can find tons of food there.

Didnt like the way it cooked rice. Its all grainy.
