More than just a new map, Ticket to Ride: Europe features brand new gameplay elements. Tunnels may require you to pay extra cards to build on them, Ferries require locomotive cards in order to claim them, and Stations allow you to sacrifice a few points in order to use an opponent's route to connect yours. The game also includes larger format cards and Train Station game pieces.<br><br>The overall goal remains the same: collect and play train cards in order to place your pieces on the board, attempting to connect cities on your ticket cards. Points are earned both from placing trains and completing tickets but uncompleted tickets lose you points. The player who has the most points at the end of the game wins.

This is a classic game that is a nice mix of strategy and luck. My kids started playing the Jr version as little kids and while they still love it, I bought this to level up a little. Rules are largely the same so it isn't too hard of a transition. As a bonus they have learned a little geography on the side. This is one of the few board games that many kids can still play and enjoy with adults. It moves fast enough nobody gets bored, but long enough to be satisfying. It is a family game night favorite.

Was so glad to find these cards as we play this game a lot with our family and the cards are nice and big - regular card size.  The ones that come with the game are pretty small.  These cards have been hard to find in the past so we were excited to be able to order them.

Love these cards

Great option for board game night. Easy to understand and play, with plenty of mechanisms to keep even seasoned players on their toes. Best version of the series.

Wanted game my hubby and I could play together. He is a gamer and I am not. Wanted something that would itch his need for strategy games but not take all day to play. Give it two times, so you can learn the rules, and you will be hooked. Now on average 45 minute game. Better than watching tv together after kids go to bed. Spawns great conversations. Would be good with friends as well.

Great couple game

Great way to add more tickets to your collection. Has a bonus card of 15 points for the person with the most routes completed. Allows you to take a direction and hit more of your destinations along the way. Definately adds another dimention to the strategy of the game.

Adds dimention to the Game

This game doesn't at first seem like it will be that good but it is awesome.    I was first introduced to this game(the original version) by my son and daughter in law; my husband and I were skeptical at first but even before we finished the first game we knew we loved "the train game".   Since our son and his wife will be moving soon, we both felt we needed to get our own game.  It is fun to play and constantly a new challenge.    I bought the Europe version for my husband for father's day and he was so thrilled with this game.  The Europe version seemed a bit harder at first because of the names of the towns being unfamiliar but this game is amazing.  Another great thing about this game is you can have just as much fun playing with 2, 3,4, or 5 players.  It's nice to find a challenging, interesting game that makes you think, plan and compete even for just 2 players.  We can't wait to but the expansion pack.

Love it

Similar to the original, but with a few new rules, etc.  Our family enjoys this version the best.  Different strategies as well as more 'luck of the draw' game-play keeps it engaging.

This is a WONDERFUL game. My son's friends call it "Ticket to Addiction" because it's so fun to play. In addition to being fun, it teaches geography. It's a bit expensive but I'm SO glad we bought this game!!!

Wonderful game!

To start, this is a great game, we have been playing it for years. But they have changed how they are making it and it is now done super cheaply. The board is much thinner and flimsier and won't lay flat. The counter pieces that used to be wood are now cheap plastic, and one of the colored trains came broken. The track on the board that is supposed to be red looks completely brown, so much that I thought they had changed it, but the cards still appear red. I bought this as a gift, and was so disappointed. I don't know that the receiver would know the difference, but our older version is so much nicer, and the game has not gotten any less expensive to purchase. Such a bummer.
