Ease Of Installation

Build Quality

Value For Money

Loving using bios for the first time and trying to overclock my pc, having ai and options to make it very easy. This is definitely the best motherboard I have had with many options for m.2 hard drives and expansion with other cards. Loving using this Asus product. Eager to get a better monitor to put this and my 5070ti to their real potential.

Maximus having my pc running at maximum

https://www.asus.com

Amazing motherboard. Heavy and well built. Loads of features, especially 6 x m.2 slots.
Was very easy installing everything.
Just one problem I encountered. My samsung 8TB P9100 NVME shows up in motherboard bios but when installing windows 11 it does not find it.
A work around is to disable VDM in bios but this turns off Raid features, which I need. Support says to download RST drivers, but that did not work. After downlaoding so many drivers and install windows 11 with RST turned off i managed to find the correct drivers.
Asus need to show this on the Hero Z890 web page and have a link to the correct drivers.
Apart from that, excellent motherboard.

Great MB but NVMe not showing 4 window 11 install

Looks great, easy to build on, high quality pice of equipment. The only thing that I have a problem inhave asus doesn't make their own fans, ram and, other parts.

Top quality motherboard.

Asus Hero z890 board is built like a tank. Surrounded in a sheath. All the options and connections you could wish for and a very tweak-able BIOS. Been building on Asus for years and the Hero board never disappoints.

Hero Tank z890 board

Awesome board now in use for a year. However, the ROG LED "G" light went off and it would take a motherboard replacement to fix. Not a big deal since it does not affect functionality but nevertheless a glitch and wondering why a small simple part would fail after a year.

Amazing Motherboard But...

The good: I chose this for the BIOS code dispaly and CMOS resset. Installation of the drives is very easy and the integrated heatsinks are substantial!

The not so good: The Polymo display has some sort of residue or etching on the surafce after removing the protective film. I tried several methods to remove, but was unsucsessful.

Solid build, but with a minor cosmetic defect

A great motherboard with tons of features. I love the easy to use M.2 access. The only thing I wish more would be to have a proper audio board compatible with 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound connectors.

One of the best

Plagued with bugs, I've had to turn off gen 5 with a ultra 9 285k, I've had to turn off usb4 tunneling, I've had to down lock my ram, my gen 5 graphics cards are running as gen 4 just to stop the bad errors. I'm getting ital and system service exception bsod's. Ireland not less or equal bsod's, system service exception bsod's, usb-c transfer crashes, idle bsod's, random kernel crashes, I've been a solid ASUS and rog fan from the start but this is just unacceptable.

ASUS really needs to work this out

So far, I am VERY disappointed with the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero. This is a remarkably complex board with probably thousands of parameters that may be tweaked and adjusted; however, there does not seem to be a concise set of documentation indicating how to use this. Additionally, in what little documentation there is, they use abbreviations that must be looked up in 3rd party sources. I bought a M.2_1 4TB SSD card and I have spent 3 days trying to get the board to recognize the card as a boot device! In a Mother Board with 6 M.2 slots, why is this so poorly documented?

Looks great - documentation is poor

Memory compatibility is not up to par. Could not utilize the maximum Ram advertised. Was limited to only to two slots. That was disappointing for a high end motherboard.
