Price

We have a record player in a case that is mobile and it seemed decent for the price but we realized over time that albums sometimes skipped.  We returned a brand new album to the vinyl store and they played it on their system.  Not a single skip.  They said it's been our player, not the albums.  Sure enough, every album with a skip is playing perfect on this new turntable.    The sound is so much better, no comparison.  I researched reading tons of reviews and articles and unless you are going to pay >$1k, this is the brand to get.  Also, I got active speakers to go with it and watched some you tube videos on installing this and it seemed pretty easy but returned the speakers and hooked it up to our stereo system with a receiver.  The quality of the speakers will make a difference.   Those case record players are ok for $50 when considering you don't have to buy speakers if you don't have a system already but this turntable isn't even comparable in sound quality.

this is it for the basic starter turntable the suitcase ones are just toys that will break. this is a great starter turntable or if you're a collector a good spare turntable to test a record before you ruin your $5,000 cartridge on your real turntable. for the beginner one would have to spend another 2 to $300 to see even a marginal difference. get this and the edifier speakers and there is a $99 pioneer integrated amplifier out there somewhere and then hold tight spend some of your money on records and save up for $1,000 system. put you money into the speakers. don't get suckered in by expensive turntables just make sure you know what you're buying and pay attention to the cartridge and how much cartridge replacements are. there's no equivalent to this turntable and there's no improving it with a better cartridge or upgrades. perhaps invest in a center weight that can be used for other turntables in the future don't spend more than $30 on that. I remember it's about the music don't be a snob and don't buy what you don't like just to have it in your collection that is all I got to say about that

OMG where does one start? Packaged like a brick, it arrived in pristine condition. Un-boxing and set up was a breeze, I had it connected to my Denon Receiver in under 5 minutes, super simple and easy. My first record, Beethoven's "The Creatures of Prometheus," pressed in 1978, and purchased there about, never sounded so beautiful. 

Set the record on the turntable, close the lid and press "Start." It starts, the arm lifts up and swings into position, then ever so gently sets music into motion. at the end, the arm lifts up, swings over and into the rest position and turns off.

There is an insert included for 45's and a speed selection for 33 or 45.  Allegro Vivace never sounded so sweet and pure, a glass of red wine and I am back when I first heard this as a boy. Yes, this turn table IS that good.  Thank You Walmart!

It's a great turntable.  Price is the same everywhere, Walmart isn't any cheaper.  But, it got here quickly and in perfect condition.  Turntable is fully automatic, a great feature!
