Can be reliable at close proximity, but struggles with distance.

Fails to consistently update, connect, or unlock doors.

Fails to maintain a stable wifi connection.

Battery life requires frequent recharging.

I've been using this for a month or so, and it has worked consistently, notifies me when the Wi-Fi disconnects which has probably happened once but then reconnected shortly there after. The one thing to keep in mind is when you set it up, the the lock should not be connected to Wi-Fi. Took me a while to figure this thing out, but once I did the bridge connected flawlessly and was aware of my lock and I have a full integration between my app, the log, and the bridge, perfect! I  have spent quite a bit of money trying out many of the other leading locks including Level, I have found the August integration and performance be the best on the market. I also have the keypad which works well too!

Works consistently!

This is a great piece of our secure front door.  I love the whole operation; however, the reason I had to buy this is because the first one failed just outside warranty.  They gave me a replacement discount but if this one fails, then I'm probably finished with the product.

Works as Advertised

The bridge is very easy to connect to the lock.   You do need one bridge per lock; it is not a hub for the house.  Easily see who opens and locks the door.  Can also tell if door is fully closed with the door sense that comes with the lock.

Allows remote control of lock (& access) anywhere

I would have to recommend the connect to a friend, because you need this component for the locks to be as useful as they already should be. I'm not sure why I have to spend more money on a "bridge" for my lock to talk to the rest of the house. My Nest thermostat is already WiFi ready, and it does SO much more than just unlock a door, for about the same price as the August lock. 
Set up was super easy.

This Should Already Be Integrated

I have been using August lock for a few weeks now and so far I am not impressed. Here are the reasons why:
1.	The Connect bridge needs to be near the lock since it controls it via Bluetooth. It seems to me that installing another lock would require purchasing another Connect bridge which makes the whole system much more expensive.
2.	Auto – unlock does not work every time, it fails to unlock the door about 20% of the time despite having the recommended phone settings enabled.
3.	Your app does not offer enough automation options.
I am hoping that some significant upgrades will be available soon.

Need some serious improvements

I have 2 Smart Wifi locks, 10 feet apart and one floor directly above my router. They CHEW through batteries - less than 2 months for Energizer Lithium. I read that using the bridge would help. Didn't read closely enough to see that it only supported one lock. Not sure yet how long the batteries on the one lock will last but it better be a LONG time to justify the cost of the bridge. August, fix you battery life, it's awful.

Only supports one lock.

I've had the bridge for a couple weeks and all the features work as advertised, but it constantly drops connection and says “lock unavailable”. At this point it's too unreliable to count on so I don't really use it. 

If the connection issue could get sorted out it would be 5 stars.

It would be great, if it stayed connected

worked for years then stopped. tech said it wsas broken needed replacement. bought replacement and it did work either. then they tell me that its problem with my dual band router. same router ive had for years and it worked on same router for years. everything else in the house (about 50 devices) work fine on the router. half of them 2.4 and half are 5g yet connect is having issues after years of no issues. ofc blame it on something else instead of the product itself...

Piece of junk

This is my second Connect and it is completely unreliable. Positioned perfectly very close to both the August lock and my Nest Wifi point, but loses the connection and goes offline constantly. Thinking of returning and getting a different wifi-enabled lock for the front door.

Connection keeps dropping

I've had this lock and bridge for a few years. I have had the same problem as many in the group with continuous Wi-Fi disconnection. I thought it would be fixed by now with some sort of update. I was told the compatibility problem was due to my Wi-Fi mesh system….which makes no sense. Current technology has to have a better answer. And, you can't post your review unless you agree to getting crap emails.

Same problem as many. Why is it not fixed?
