Can be reliable at close proximity, but struggles with distance.

Fails to consistently update, connect, or unlock doors.

This is a great piece of our secure front door.  I love the whole operation; however, the reason I had to buy this is because the first one failed just outside warranty.  They gave me a replacement discount but if this one fails, then I'm probably finished with the product.

I've been using this for a month or so, and it has worked consistently, notifies me when the Wi-Fi disconnects which has probably happened once but then reconnected shortly there after. The one thing to keep in mind is when you set it up, the the lock should not be connected to Wi-Fi. Took me a while to figure this thing out, but once I did the bridge connected flawlessly and was aware of my lock and I have a full integration between my app, the log, and the bridge, perfect! I  have spent quite a bit of money trying out many of the other leading locks including Level, I have found the August integration and performance be the best on the market. I also have the keypad which works well too!

Works consistently!

I bought this because my new August locks were chewing through batteries at a prodigious rate because of having built in Wi-Fi. This connect device takes the load off and has made my locks work with HomeKit reliably now.

Saves batteries on lock

My old wifi bridge (maybe 3 years old) stopped connecting to the internet and i was told there was no fix, so I bought a new one. No issue setting it up and it works as expected.

Old one died - replacement was easy to set up

I would have to recommend the connect to a friend, because you need this component for the locks to be as useful as they already should be. I'm not sure why I have to spend more money on a "bridge" for my lock to talk to the rest of the house. My Nest thermostat is already WiFi ready, and it does SO much more than just unlock a door, for about the same price as the August lock. 
Set up was super easy.

This Should Already Be Integrated

I've had this lock and bridge for a few years. I have had the same problem as many in the group with continuous Wi-Fi disconnection. I thought it would be fixed by now with some sort of update. I was told the compatibility problem was due to my Wi-Fi mesh system….which makes no sense. Current technology has to have a better answer. And, you can't post your review unless you agree to getting crap emails.

Same problem as many. Why is it not fixed?

I had to purchase a replacement device because mine died 2 months past the warranty.  I was given a discount code as a consolation, but there was a better discount code active on the web store at the time so that was meaningless. These need to be more reliable.

Good when it works, but may not work for long

worked for years then stopped. tech said it wsas broken needed replacement. bought replacement and it did work either. then they tell me that its problem with my dual band router. same router ive had for years and it worked on same router for years. everything else in the house (about 50 devices) work fine on the router. half of them 2.4 and half are 5g yet connect is having issues after years of no issues. ofc blame it on something else instead of the product itself...

Piece of junk

I've had the bridge for a couple weeks and all the features work as advertised, but it constantly drops connection and says “lock unavailable”. At this point it's too unreliable to count on so I don't really use it. 

If the connection issue could get sorted out it would be 5 stars.

It would be great, if it stayed connected

Constantly having disconnection when trying to put my code in or fingerprint. This needs to get fixed or you're going to have an another upset customer. I've had my lock for almost 2 years now and it still hasn't been fixed.
