This is a great smart lock! Installs with ease, no new key required. Can be installed on virtually any door that has a deadbolt lock. It is a bit big, but it works great. Innovative battery case and cover, love it!

This product is super impressive. The fact that you can replace the bolt in your door and now control your door lock from your phone is amazing! What's really neat is that you can control your door lock remotely. I live with roommates so this is really helpful if someone locks someone out or if you run an airbnb and would like to access your door remotely. Highly recommend. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

Great lock!

I was amazed how easy it was to install. Make sure however, that you have the dead bolt and handle separately.  It comes with easy instructions,  and came with batteries and the Wifi bridge all included.  The bridge allows you to remotely access your door lock away from home. The cool features are the lock will sense you are within the range and it will automatically unlock your doors. You can also grant access remotely to let your friends and family using the August app. What I like most about this smart lock is the outside looks the same, so you can still use your keys, but on the inside of the door, it's hitech with great smart features.  It also comes with a sensor so you can monitor your doors activity.

Easy Install and stealth on the outside

I loved the ability to unlock the doors to my house wherever I am and whenever I wanted.  It was easy to use and honestly, does not look nearly as bad as you might imagine.  Loved the product and truly was so impressed by it

Feel safe and confident

Most of the time works as advertised, so far over all happy. easy installation, door ajar sensor a bit challenging. A word of caution; don't leave the house without phone even if you are putting garbage outside when AUTO LOCK is ENABLED and set for less than a minute.

Happy and Recommend

I always question if I locked my door after I am 20 minutes into my route. Luckily, with the August Home Smart Lock Pro, I dont have to worry anymore! With this user friendly, and easy installation it is a perfect tool to add to the security in your house. I never have to worry about not feeling safe again! I reviewed this for a contest.

Feel Safe and Smart

Right out of the box, this lock is easy to install - it is great because of the autolocking feature (automatically opens when coming home and automatically locks when leaving home). One of my favorite features of this is that it is integrated with your phone, so everything is at the ease of your finger-tips! I was fortunate enough to learn about this product through a live-demonstration.

Bought a house with an August 3rd generation lock.  Called the company to reset the lock and they asked for a photo of the back of the lock since it was registered to the previous owner.  Received a confirmation email stating that someone would get back to me within 24 hours.  6 days later, I called and they stated that they have been attempting to get in touch with the previous owner and can't.  I asked what happens if they can't speak with him to get permission and was not given an alternative.  Called again because of the lack of 24 hour follow up to find out this has ben escalated but still no response from previous owner.  Told their CSR, that I have sent them a photo per their request and can provide additional information showing owner ship (deed paperwork, additional photos, county auditor information, etc.).  
Sent them a screen shot from the county auditor site showing my name and the sale date…..THEY STILL WOULD NOT RESET THE LOCK.  THEY REFUSED PROOF FROM A GOVERNMENT AGENCY as proof of ownership.

I'll take this lock off my house and buy something with a better reputation.

Waste of time

Have you ever owned one? I have had two smart locks go bad in 3 years, I am on my second keypad and I chose not to replace my video doorbell when it went out. Looks, ease of install, great but longevity is horrible.

Looks are deceiving

Both the august lock and the Connect Wi-Fi bridge stopped working after about 2 years. The august lock stopped calibrating correctly so would not turn the right amount to lock/unlock the door properly. It's such a poor design since it tries to “understand” how much to turn.  It would be a lot simpler to just turn 90 degrees. The Connect also stopped working and no longer connects to the lock so is useless. Both of these seem to be common problems from what I've read on the Internet. The Connect Wi-Fi Bridge can also only work with 1 lock, which is also a poor design.  So you have to buy a Connect for every lock!   2 years is the shortest life of all of my electronic products, especially for one as expensive as this one. August customer support is useless and could not fix the issues. They don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. I will be buying a different product and brand - Ultraloq seems to be a much better product with a lot more features at the same price.

Only lasted 2 years! Poor quality and support
