Bought this for my son for his first Christmas (10 months old). He LOVES it still. It's so cute and so fun.

Maison Battat

This train was the best purchase we have ever made.  Every child that has come over, love playing with this train, over and over again.  It has taken a lot of abuse from toddlers, and it is still in perfect shape.

The Best Gift Every!

He spins round and round watching it go!  Came here looking to buy more track to make it bigger. (It seems others are too.  Make sure to listen btoys!)

2 year old loves it

LOVE this train set!!

Christmas present for my 1 and 4 year old. They absolutely love it! We just put new batteries in it yesterday. They have let it go off the track and get stuck into a couch or wall, I could see that killing the motor.

So far my son loves this train. I just wish there was a way to purchase more track so that it doesn't just go in a circle. Would love to be able to make different setups with the track.

Great train!

Motor is a bit undersized for the load it has to move. A lower gear ratio might help since it runs slow with 4 cars anyway. You can tell by how much faster the train moves without any cars. The front wheels of the engine don't need the traction tires -- they just cause the engine to occasionally stick to the edge of the outer curve, smooth wheels would glide along the edge of the curve. Using a yellow headlight LED would look just as good and allow the train to run on 2 AAs instead of 3. The curvature of the track pieces is slightly too tight and the track pieces pop open at the lightest bump. Also, adding 4 straight pieces would do a lot for layout variability. The speaker in the engine sounds really bad -- singing greeting cards sound better. The motor should be able to overcome the friction of the wheels so that the wheels will simply slip when the train gets stuck, rather than stalling the motor (and burning it out)

Make a 2.0 set with compatible cars and track pieces and I would buy it.

good design, but needs better mechanics

We got this for our grandson who LOVES trains.  What we love about it, is that it's not complex for a 2-3 year old to set up on the track.  It's so cute the song sticks in your head.  But the motor that drives the engine stopped working after less than a month of use.  I tried taking it apart to check for a broken wire, since the music still plays, but apparently the motor burned out.  Seems to be a familiar problem with this item?

The main car stop rolling after 1 week-end. Never got hit. We changed thé batteries and didn't works. Vert disapointing.
