The product needs an explanation of how the length is measured.  I am a homeowner, not a plumber, trying to repair a faucet on my house.  My original part measured 12 inches from end to end so I ordered a 12 inch replacement.  Sadly the 12" replacement is 16 inches long and doesn't fit.  Nothing on the replacement is 12" but the distance between the two rubber gaskets is within 1 inch of the advertised 12 inches.
