Sony Bluray player, it is awesome. I purchased this as a spare since many companies are stopping making players, media storage, and going to digital media only.  I own a lot of bluray movies and dont want to get stuck with nothing to play my movies with.  This player is at a great price at $79. Sony is a great brand.

I have purchased this product before. I still have the first one and it still works perfect. Easy to set up. Great picture quality and great sound. connects to the internet easy. no skipping. I highly recommend this model if anyone is looking for a reliable dvd player with apps.

I recently started looking for a new blu-ray player when my last one went super wonky. I had a wal-mart card and a target card from xmas and decided to go with walmart since they have the bigger selection. I chose this specific player in part based on the reviews from this recent black friday. It was still (or again) on sale and, for the most part, the reviews were all positive.  

Really glad I made this choice. Super easy to setup, super easy to use. Typed in my wifi password and I was ready to netflix. All the mainstream apps are already on the main screen so I rented a movie from vudu the next day - again, no issues with that process or with streaming the movie. I played around with it and figured out how to share my cell screen with the big screen - also easier than expected. All in all, between savings and gift cards, I paid about $50 for this but it was absolutely worth the full price.

Great Blu-Ray Player

Am not familiar with entertainment devices, really did not even know how to turn on the TV.  Divorce changed all that and I found myself needing to learn a few things to pass the nights away.  Started a subscription to NETFLIX and was watching it through my computer.  Had a TV left as a built in, but then had to figure out what to do with it as the only cable it had was an HDMI.  Roku and Apple TV were a couple of options, but they cost almost as much as this Blu Ray.  After researching Blu Ray players, I knew that I wanted wireless and 3D emulation.  The SONY was the best choice especially for the money.  Hooked it up and it did the rest.  Now I can watch movies with  no hassle through the TV.  Thank you once again SONY.

EASIER THAN EXPECTED

Purchased the Sony Product in Jan this year, and couldn't be more happier with the performance. Has a few major apps built into the player, and can add more if need be. Very clear picture when tied into Wifi at home. Highly recommend for a family or person on tight budget that needs a Movie disc player with Built in apps without spending extra cash on any Fire stick or Roku device.

Sony Wireless Lan/ Built-in Wifi Blu-Ray DVD Combo

I needed a new disc player, and I chose this one because I wanted to attempt to use this for streaming Amazon Prime or Netflix or YouTube.  I thought it would be nice to have only one device/plug, rather than two separate devices.  

The disc player works perfect, no problems.  The streaming features are OK, but not great.  The startup time for each app is at least twice that of the Amazon Firestick or the Roku.  Also, on power-on, the BDPS3700 takes almost two minutes to connect to my wireless router/internet, where the Amazon Firestick or the Roku are almost instantly connected. 

The Amazon / Netflix / Youtube apps are decent, and I had no trouble using any of them.

It was very easy to setup and get connected to my router, but again, the speed with which it searches / connects is quite a bit longer than other devices I have.

Great for discs, not so great for apps

If you're ONLY going to use it for bluray or dvds, this unit is fine for that. But if you want to use it for streaming as well, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. Sony should be ashamed for putting out such garbage. Again, for discs, it's ok, but if you want to stream anything like Netflix, this unit is SLOW and it's very prone to freezing!! Also, it will often fail to connect to the streaming service!!! Buy something else, or a newer unit. Trust me. I have 2 of these, actually. One I use with a smart tv because it actually is a good disc player. But the other I use with an old school flat screen because it was on sale cheap and I regret that decision.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT FOR STREAMING

When I was searching for a new BluRay player for streaming, I chose Sony because our last one last for many years and we were very happy with it.  However, I am very disappointed with this one.  It seems to freeze in the middle of programs and the only way to fix the problem is it exit out of the program and go back into it - and it is not an internet issue.  There is a 2 to 4 second delay from the time you make any type of program selection to the time that it will begin playing.  I know this may sound petty but our selection would start immediately with our old BluRay. My biggest issue though is that I cannot stream Prime Video.  I clearly remember seeing Prime Video displayed in the online ad when I was searching for a new machine.  This machine does not support Prime Video!

This was sold as new, it is not, it has been opened before, batteries were in the remote, fingerprints on the open and power buttons and the slide doesn't open so the disc player is useless. will return it to walmart and see if i can get one that works for my wife's Christmas present

do not recommend

Bought this on Black Friday,  it was a super deal and had every thing I wanted.  That's the good news,  now the bad news.  It does not come with a HDMI cable.  The first Blu-ray player worked great for one day.  Then the next day it would NOT turn back on. I tried unplugging it. After plugging back into the wall, the player shows Sony DVD, then goes out to lunch and never comes back.  The folks at the local Walmart where great, took it back and sold me the same Sony player at the same price.  Problem is,  it's too much the same as the other one.  Started up and every thing worked great, shut it off, crossed my fingers, waited 5 minutes, turned it back on, and this one left to have lunch with the other one.  And it never come back. Two players both useless, took it back and got my money back. Well Sony, it's hard but I'll be moving on now. Buy it if you fill lucky.
