I've been a Trilene XL fan for too many years and have tried other Berkley lines with some success and not so successful for over 40 years. I've never had success with Fluorocarbon lines on spinning outfits, so thought I would give FluoroShield a chance. I'm quite impressed with the knot strength and the durability of this line. It doesn't cast quite a long as Trilene XL, but it does work well on spinning gear and it has a bit of stretch to snap off those rocks when jig fishing. The 6# line is way stronger than XL, so I will likely downsize to 4#, as the breaking strength is over 8# and very manageable.

I spooled up the Abu Garcia max pro with 15lb Fluoroshield and love it so far, the line seems very smooth and nimble for a relatively cheap fluoro. I have also been using this for leader material and spinner rigs and it works very well for that as well.

Great Line! Budget friendly!

I got talked into trying this by a die hard fisherman that has been around forever.  It was cheap enough, so I bought a spool of 6lb. for my UL reels (Diawa Legalis 2000) and gave it a try.  Liked it so much I spooled 2 more reels up with it.  It is the best of both worlds with low memory, just enough stretch, and superior strength.  This spring I will spooling up the rest of my reels with it.

Glad I Tried It!

I was very impressed with this line.  You would think for a inexpensive fluorocarbon line it would not be that good, well wrong.  This line was actually really good.  Very smooth casting and good knot strength.

Excellent Line

When you want the abrasive qualities of Fluorocarbon and the manageability of mono / co-polymer with superior knot strength you want Berkley FluoroShield. I was a early convert to Fluorocarbon lines and have relied heavily on them for years. Yes, even with the frustrations of line manageability in the mid and heavier line weights. But after receiving a spool of FluoroShield earlier this year I am now a convert. Specifically for my crank bait fishing. I've fished Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon right beside the FluoroShield all summer and fall with no discernible difference to catch success one over the other. No line shyness whatsoever observed. It is now my clear choice for cranks, swim jigs and swim baits, spinner baits and fast moving surface baits. #fishtowin

Fish to Win with Berkley FluoroShield

Great product. I spooled on a spinning reel and have used as a leter line. Great knot strength, nearly invisible and much softer and easier to work with than similar sized fluorocarbon. A great bridge of the best features between monofilament and fluorocarbon.

Strong Performance.

I use all types of line, based on the application and I just prefer a copolymer line for just about all treble hook situations, crankbaits, top water baits etc. l decided to give this line an opportunity and I'm glad I did. It performs very well on the reel and has outstanding abrasion resistance. It's a strong line that will serve you well!

Great Line

I bought the 300 yard 15 lb test spool and spooled up a baitcaster and a spinning reel.  I found the line to be more limp than even the Berkley Fluoro XL but not as limp as regular XL.  I caught several fish my first time out and did not notice any weaknesses but only time will tell.  If I like this line in six months as much as I do now, it will replace all my fluorocarbon lines and maybe even my regular XL lines.

So Far I Love It!

I usually use braid, but I was wanting something easier for my beginner clients fishing the flats with me. The beginner gets way less knots with this line than braid.

Easy to use for clients on Spin Trips

I have bought the 12lb test, 300 yard and put it on my 2000 Penn fierce spinning reel and not even half way through the year of the fishing season and it's coming off the spool like a wire slinky toy. I took the line off and put on the best I have found Berkeley Trilene XL smooth casting.
