These Bic mechanical pencils are perfect for my needs. They provide consistent, smooth writing and don't require sharpening, which saves time. The built-in eraser is effective for clean corrections. I think I only paid about $2 for these, but I was still expecting BIC to live up to it's prestigious name. The lead doesn't really hold up against a heavy handed person like me. It breaks easily. I use the pencils for drawing and school. I also didn't quite like the quality of the lead. It was bit too smooth. But they do come with grippers and are quite comfortable to hold.
