Captures dirt and debris from various floor types.

Includes various tools for different cleaning tasks.

Operates with minimal effort and complexity.

Can be convenient with auto rewind, but may be too short or prone to unplugging.

Has a strong suction ability to pick up dirt and debris.

I bought this to replace the same model I bought, get this, probably about 10 years ago. My old one's beater bar started to stop turning when I pushed the vacuum forward. The actual motor still worked just fine, tho. The fix to the beater bar connection was about what a new vacuum cost.

Second time around

BISSELL Homecare

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first upright vacuum cleaner as I have mostly owned Kenmore canister vacuums. I selected this model in particular because it has a switch to shut off the power head (brush) when vacuuming floors. I do like the fact that it picks up hair without it getting tangled on the roller. Since it does not use bags, there is less expense involved with using this vacuum. I am a bit leery about leaning back the upright section since there is no release, you step lightly on the power head and pull the upright section back to use, this causes concern in how long the release mechanism will last. I am very impressed with the amount of dirt it picked up, especially after I had vacuumed the same area with my Kenmore canister. I realized that the canister vacuum does not show you how much you are picking up and only indicates when the bag is full. For the amount of vacuuming that I did, I noticed that the dirt tank tends to fill rather quickly and will require several trips to the trash for emptying. The automatic cord rewind is a nice feature, but the length of the cord at 27 feet will require moving the plug more frequently. It came with an LED light crevice tool and the Pet Turbo Eraser tool which is also tangle free. Filter replacement is straight forward and replacements are readily available. I still have my canister vacuum, but it looks like the Bissell Vacuum will get used more from now on.

My first upright vacuum cleaner and I'm impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that I can use this vacuum for carpet and hard floors. It actually works very well on hard floors when you shut off the roller. I also love the convenience of the easy to use lift off hose. It has been a huge help cleaning up after my 3 big dogs so far. #sweepstakes

Great for having large dogs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third vacuum we buy in 1 year and we have been very positively impressed with our Bissell. It's well made and parts and components look sturdy. My wife likes the vacuum power and how it handles on hard floors, I, on the other hand, love the automatic cord rewind feature!

I would definitely recommend it

Janelle McFarlane

I had a Bissel for the last 4 years and I didn't realize it wasn't doing a very good job! I purchased this new vacuum as an upgrade because I couldn't get the replacement parts for the old one (outdated at this point) and I am so glad I chose this one! the only thing is I do like the little bristles that stuck out at the edges, I think it was called the edge-sweepers on the older model, that got into the little edges and seams of some areas. I don't think those are included in most newer models, or at least not the ones I was looking at before making my decision. I really like my new model!

very good and well-needed upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoy using this vacuum cleaner and was extremely excited to receive it after doing to much research on Bissell products vs. other anti-hair wrap technology vacuums. For the most part, I was super happy, but here are the areas that didn't meet my expectations: ~ the handle attachment that you push and pull the vacuum with is detachable, which is fabulous, however, it jerks in and out as I push and pull the machine, making it feel a bit rickety as I go in different directions; it is as if it does not properly lock in place ~ the wand attachments are useful for many things, but for small areas, the only tool provided is the lighted crevice tool, which gives me the extended length I need, but the opening is so small I have to go over areas several times to satisfactorily vacuum. Additionally, the end is a rubberized material, which makes it difficult to slide the tool across sideboards or other edges due to the added friction. The only alternative is a short flat tool with bristles, which is just simply not useful for vacuuming side edges (although it works great for other things) Things I love: ~ cord rewind is very fast at sucking back in the cord, and doesn't get tangled at all ~ the mini roller attachment is perfect for vacuuming seating and other smaller fabric areas ~ the assembly was very easy and the instructions were very clear ~ the vacuum has a place for every attachment so you don't have to store them elsewhere ~ the anti-hair wrap roller seems to be working as advertised ~ great suction ~ comes with an extra Febreeze filter

Loved it but not perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I had been researching vacuum cleaners for while to replace our 20+ year old Hoover. After careful consideration and comparison, we decided to try Bissell. Let me start by saying that this product gives you a very thorough clean (our canister was completely full after the first time using it) which showed us that our old vacuum clearly hadn't been doing the job. We could see a clear difference in our carpet after just one use! The LED lights also make it much easier to see what you are picking up. That being said, there are some small features that do not live up to the promises advertised, such as the Tangle-Free Brush Roll. As you can see from the images attached, there was a substantial amount of hair wrapped around the brush roll after our first time using the vacuum. We ended up having to cut the hair with scissors to unravel it, so we are hoping that will not be an every time occurrence. As far as the retractable cord, it is a fantastic feature that makes putting away the vacuum much less time consuming, however, it unplugged from the wall multiple times, even when the cord was not extended all the way. The vacuum is a bit heavy and hard to maneuver, and when using the extension attachments, it frequently falls over. If you are looking for a quality vacuum that that picks up dirt and hair while making you feel like your home is clean, then this vacuum is for you. The negative aspects of this product do not affect its ability to clean well!

Happy with this product, would recommend to a friend!

Will

Too expensive. No comparison to my previous Bissells. Hose is WAY too short, tank is tiny and has to be emptied frequently and no edge cleaner. Don't need headlights, I don't vacuum in the dark. Would give up stupid lights for longer hose & bigger tank.

Bissell Vacuum

Machine clogged up in rollers after 2 uses and the plastic roller seat was wearing away. I vacuum regularly so very disappointed it did not perform and I returned it. I love my Bissell carpet cleaner so thought I'd love the vacuum. Sorry to say it didn't perform.

Disappointed

bissellpwr

Totally regret buying this vacuum. Very low suction. Does not pick up dirt from hard floors like my previous vacuum. Have to buy cleaning solution just to get dust off the floors. And it is the heaviest I have ever experienced. In the future I will only purchase vacuums with lift away option, so I can clean under furniture, then just use a mop!

Don't recommend.
