this is an overall great vacuum. if you have pets, always skeptical of these types of products that say they're made for that, but this one lives up to it now. how long will it last being used regularly is the question other than that though, as of right now very satisfied with the overall vacuum. a few design changes could be used on it, but for the most part, great vacuum. me being picky the design changes could be the cord placement along with the canister clip and hose clip. I filled those pieces will be the first to break next to the hose. however, only time can tell. hopefully I get my money's worth out of it. I have a husky and it picks up well for him so far.

I had the older version of this for years and loved it, but it broke after heavy use. I vacuum every day, (3 big dogs, a cat, teenage boys) I love seeing what is in the canister after cleaning everyday. This is one powerful vacuum, it WILL suck the little carpets up off the floor. There is only one thing I miss, the head lights aren't as bright or in the same position, the kind of point out ahead of the vacuum a ways, instead being like the old ones which were super bright and right down in front of the machine so you could see even the slightest hair. The new vacuum sits up a little higher in the front, so things I used to be able to get under, I can't necessarily now, but that really is a non-issue as much as a preference. They changed the roller bar which is exceptional and is probably the reason why it sits up higher, but we are only talking maybe half an inch? 
I got this on sale and I would have definitely paid full price. You will be appreciative how much dust, dirt,hair, dander etc. this machine picks up. Easy to use because it swivels and also easy to clean.

This is a heavy duty vacuum. It's much heavier than the stick vacuums I had been using. It really does get the cat's hair up. My bedroom carpet looks brand new. The only issue I had was during the assembly process. The hose bracket is supposed to easily slide in behind the canister. Nope. You have to get it just right or it won't budge. For individuals w back/neck disabilities this could be a nightmare. Finally-I was able to get it in the groove. It is easy to discharge the container contents over a trash can. It is corded too. If you are accustomed to a cordless vacuum it will take some adjusting. I'd say what I paid was a good price.  I'd definitely recommend.

Works as described

LOVE THE BISSELL VACUUMS - THIS ONE SUCKS UP ALL THE CAT AND DOG HAIR ALONG WITH DIRT AND KID CRUMBS.  ONE OF MY CATS IS LONG BLACK HAIRED AND I SWEAR I THINK SHE SHOULD BE BALD BY NOW WITH ALL THE HAIR DEPOSITS ON THE FLOOR. ALWAYS A PROBLEM BUT THIS BISSELL REALLY CLEANS UP ALL THE HAIR. LOVE IT, AND WOULD DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN. EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

BYE-BYE CAT HAIR-FINALLY!!

I've owned this machine for a few weeks now it's great no hair tangle so far works great has a decent cord length it's not that heavy in my opinion and works great I would definitely buy this model again!

Anti tangle roller

Very easy to use.  i have a area rug that the cats lay on %26 hair get imbedded into it.  This sweeper gets down to the nitty gritty getting that cat hair out.  Very sarisfied with my purchase.

So I like this one.  I had the Bissell PowerForce Helix bagless upright vacuum pet friendly , purple and black. It finally died on me this year and I had it for 4 years . So this one is powerful and swivels in small spaces. The con on it is when I try to get vacuum low on the floor under like a table the hose hits the floor but it's ok it still picks up real good. I didn't vacuum for like a week and I have two cats and I was amazed at how much it picked up from the cats. It leaves the strike marks you like to see in carpet from an open house. The brush roll didn't work so good either on my sofa as far as the cat hair, I still had to use a lint roller to get some hair off. The great thing about this vacuum is that you can turn the brush off when vacuuming over tile so you don't get dust on your floor now my last vacuum didn't do that. Overall it's great if you have pets and have a lot of hair to vacuum from carpet.

Awesome Pet Vacuum

HONESTLY, this Bissell had been amazing! it's lightweight, the attachments are awesome! Especially the handheld vacuum! it's so easy and so much quicker to remove dog hair from my furniture and my girls beds. The suction is hands down my most favorite "pro". I LOVE the swivel! the easy swivel head is amazing and I haven't found a spot I can't take care of yet! Another favorite is the "high%26low" floor options. All around it's the best house floor vaccume I've ever owned! I recommend it to everyone looking for a strong vaccume, especially if you have animal for dilemmas!I chose 4 stars as recently I've noticed it's been spitting back out dirt on my linoleum floor. I'm crossing my fingers it just needs a quick and simple filter replacement!

Initial review is it has great suction with the brush turned on and will really pull cat hair out of carpet. 

With the brush off on hardwood or tiled floor, it has almost no suction; as in it just rolled over loose sand without moving a speck. 

However, using the crevice tool did focus the suction and improve the strength to pick up sand and dirt on floors. The separate pet brush has strong suction and does a great job. 

Overall, I like it for carpet and use a broom for the floors with the crevice tool for swept up sand and light dirt. Easy to empty and keep clean.

Great for pet hair in carpet

Lightweight vaccum that does NOT live up to the bissell name.  It takes me double the time to vaccum and leaves so much behind even after going over it multiple times.  We're approx 32 days  in with it now and the brush roll has stopped working, would not ever recommend for anyone with carpet or pets.. my bissell pet rewind from 6 or 8 years ago puts this new one to shame in every way other then the weight of the unit itself.
