Like all the products in my house, that are Black and Decker, this iron is top quality. Perfect out of the box, can use tap water, great ironing plate, settings and quality. 
Who else gives quality like this, AND PRICE? Black and Decker products are always the Queens in my house.

For the price it works great. It does take a bit to warm up and the temps aren't exact. If you have a large piece, make sure you're adjusting as you go for when it gets a bit hot and when it starts to lose heat. For me, I haven't had any issues. I also start cooler than I think and that's helped me to not harm clothes. You can always make it hotter if it's not ironing. But you can't undo a scorched clothing item.

Great for proce

I have not had to purchase an iron in many years. So when the time came, I was looking for one that was a good price and that did the basic job. I do not have a lot of ironing, but when I have ironing, I want to be done quickly and I want it to be done well.

After reading the reviews on this iron, I decided to give it a go. And I'm very glad I did. For my purposes it works very well. It produces enough steam that I was able to easily iron a wrinkled heavy denim jacket and several other things. The iron heated up quickly and worked very well.

For the amount of ironing I do , which is very little, this iron is perfect.

It does a great job

This is one of the best irons I've had in a long time for the money I paid. It works great and it has made it easier for me to keep my husband's work clothes looking like I just picked them up for the cleaners after being freshly pressed. I'm saving time and money because I don't have to stand there forever ironing the wrinkles out and I no longer have to pay someone else to do what I now do at home.

My old iron had finally died and it was a few days after Christmas so the selection online was not that great for in store pick up otherwise I might have picked a different iron.  It does the job and is well built but when I slide the iron over the  material to be ironed, it seems to push the material up and wrinkles it more.

Going on two weeks now and no major issues. I do use this iron on a daily basis. My one main concern is the iron turns itself off (which is a safety procedure) and I understand however to turn the iron on again, I need to  unplug it  and  plug it back on. This takes time and is a nuisance.

This is a really good iron.  I press my clothes every day.  I was under the impression the cord was detachable for horizontal steam ironing but it is not.  However, the iron's performance is great and easily smooths out wrinkles.  The plate is wide which makes for easy coverage of the clothing item.  The tank size is sufficient.

Very good purple iron

I purchased this item in a pinch. It's okay but not great. Cord is nice and long. Produces plenty of steam. Difficult to see how much water remains through purple plastic window. Iron is not very heavy so it's hard to get wrinkles out of weightier fabrics. It serves its purpose but don't expect to have it for too long.

Not impressed.

This iron does not have a power button.  The auto shutoff is fine, but you have to unplug the iron each time you use it.  I am a busy quilter and need an iron with a power button and auto shut off.  I don't want to have to unplug the iron constantly all day long! add the power button, and you would have a decent iron.

I was trying to make vinyl shirts and was losing my mind because they just would not stay! The max temp on this is about half of my old iron, it does not get hot enough to iron clothes, let alone iron-on vinyl. I like that you can choose steam or not but it doesn't even tell you when it's done heating up!
