[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that it wasn't typical Disney. It's imaginative.

Visually, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms was beautiful, and every facet of design, from costuming to the grandeur of the various Realms, was gorgeous. That said, this film seemed to lack in the scripting and dialogue of its characters, and many scenes felt forced and misplaced. Morgan Freeman did an excellent job as Drosselmeyer, and James Newton Howard's score truly accented some of the best moments from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet. In many other respects, however, the story felt more like The Chronicles of Narnia than The Nutcracker, and I would've loved even more of the typical ballet style that Misty Copeland brought to the table. All in all, the story of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms was lost in its own epic setting and didn't seem to feel relatable to its viewers.
