12 years is a curiously long life for a flat iron, but when mine finally short-circuited and died I immediately replaced it with this same exact one.  This is a workhorse in my styling routine used at least a couple times a week. I both straighten and curl with it and never had an issue. I love the simplicity of use and the extended long plates that make curling so much easier in my opinion.  I have naturally wavy fine hair for reference.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize there is no auto-off. The simple fact that this does not have that safety feature at this price point is enough for me to return it. It's easy to use and it heats up quickly, too. Darn!

No automatic shutoff

There isnt anything special about this overpriced flat iron. My $25 Revelon one actually works better. 
This one pulls the hair and not smooth. I could almost hear my hair ripping. Tried different heat settings and on my daughters hair and same thing. Save your hair and money.

This is the 2nd flat iron I have ordered from Walmart.com %26 twice I have had the same issue of the black enamel coming off the flat iron.
