This review is actually of our XL Saxony Grill pergola…just finally finished installing last week. 

The pergola was easy to put together. Instructions were very clear, and 3d view was very helpful. My wife and I put as much as possible together in preparation for our sons joining us to connect the four posts and add the roof…it now houses our original outdoor kitchen. It is our 2nd Backyard Discovery pergola (you can see in the picture, behind the Saxony XL, our Arcadia Pergola, which we use primarily for concerts and movies). Next week we are putting together the smaller Saxony pergola to house a smoker and pizza oven. We LUV Backyard Discovery products!,

Well built, easy to put together!!

I recently purchased the 14x12 Arcadia Gazebo and couldn't be happier—it's not only beautiful but incredibly sturdy and well-built. At 67, I assembled it myself with just a couple of simple braces I made, which speaks to how user-friendly it is. I was so impressed that I bought the 12x9.5 Arcadia to expand my patio setup.
For anyone in the Midwest, especially Ohio, this is the perfect solution. The wind rating and snow load are exactly what we need for our harsh winters. I compared it to the options at my local big box stores, but they couldn't match the strength and specifications required for our climate. Backyard Discovery delivered exactly what I needed—highly recommend!

Perfect! Just what I was looking for

I bought this and a matching "corner pergola" las month.  Both are absolutely fabulous.  I did each one over a weekend with a bit of help from my college age daughter.  Instructions are really good, the hardware is top notch and I couldn't be happier

You have to order one!

I purchased my Backyard Discovery Saxony XL grill gazebo to for our outdoor grill station. All of our parts were in great condition and install was pretty straightforward. It's great having a place to cook and serve hot off the griddle or smoker . Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Outdoor Cooking Area

Don't think twice, this is an excellent product, easy to install. I'm 62 years old and did the entire project by myself except for assistance lifting the roof. After completing the build I added a few extras. Added a full double sided back pannel and then built two cabinets beside my blackstone grill. Last was power and lights. This was an amazing product for a 19th hole 110 yard par 3 and oversized putting green.

My sons and I assembled the cover over a two-day period and had no issues with how all the components fit together.  In past experience with structures like this, we always found issues with holes not being drilled in correct spots or something else not fitting the way it should.  In this case, we followed the instructions (which were well written and illustrated) and did not have anything not fit as it should.

No Installation Issues & Well Built

Quality is very good.  Looks great! Assembly is best with 2 people and takes a few hours.  Polyurethane all wood parts first. Everyone who has seen it wants one! I put it adjacent to the Backyard Discovery Norwood.  Wish they would fit together without a gap.

We bought our grill gazebo about a month ago and were able to put it together this weekend. It took us about six hours. Most parts lined up well, some needed “coaxing”.  Overall we are very pleased with the results and love the way it looks on our patio. It is our second outdoor structure from Backyard Discovery.

Wonderful product. Easy to put together.  Parts all well marked.  Shipping is an issue.  Notified me of delivery date...was two weeks away.  Ok, no problem.  Delivery date comes...no delivery...no contact.  After I contact them, I am scheduled for next delivery in another two weeks.
