Just as majestic as the home from which its name hails, the Montpelier swing set will go down in history for its endless hours of fun. As one of our newly improved wooden swing sets for backyards, this one has all the features of a beautiful mansion: the upper discovery kids fort with its peaked roof, full door and bay windows provides plenty of play space and plenty of style; the front sun porch doubles as an extended deck and launch pad for the 8' speedy kid slide; the monkey bars and ladder present fun access points into the playhouse. Swing into luxury on the belt swings and two-person glider, while the others retreat to the snack stand with built-in bench or sandbox area for some relaxing recreation on their historic sprawling estate!

All Cedar Construction:
The Montpelier is made from 100% cedar. With small, tight knot structure, your lumber will be less likely to develop small cracks emanating from knots. In laboratory testing, our durable cedar wood proved to be rot resistant and highly resistant to natural decay. All lumber is pre-stained for a smooth and clear appearance, as well as cut and stamped with the part number to help speed up the building process. Some pilot-hole drilling may be required. Our patented Safe-T-Fuse hardware makes assembly easy and secure. Its laminated swing beam is built strong, with steel clam-shell brackets to ensure that swinging is always safe. Assembly requires two moderately skilled people 18-24 hours.

For Families

Can be sturdy, but also prone to flimsy materials.

Come with labeled parts for easy assembly.

Instructions make assembly process straightforward.

Suitable for young children to play comfortably.

The finished product is perfect! Our son loves it! Took my husband 5 days from start to finish- leveling yard, wood protector/drying, building, and mulch area.

Perfection

backyarddiscovery.com

Our 1st play set for the grand babies is a Backyard Discovery, but they have outgrown it. SO we found the Montpelier Swing Set and will put in together first thing in the spring. (We have to wait till winter is over). We can't wait, neither can the grand kids. They helped pick out this one, and both are very excited.
We purchased another Backyard discovery swing set because the 1st one has been wonderful. Putting it together went well because the directions were easy to follow. We did have 1 piece that was cracked, but got a replacement very quickly. I'm excited for our new one and would highly recommend Backyard Discovery.

Love Backyard Discovery

I bought this a month ago, the delivery was fast the drivers communicated through the process to ensure I was home for delivery. Building the set was daunting at first, but the instructions were thorough and the 3D option made the process extremely easy. My daughter absolutely loves the set, been having a tough time getting her to come inside as she constantly wants to go down the slide, play in the fort, and be on the swings. Overall an excellent purchase for my family and would recommend to anyone with young kids.

Great options for kids to have endless fun.

I bought this a month ago and my kids love it.. Perfect size for my 5 an d 2 y/o's they are excited to get home from daycare to run strait to the set.. wouldn't of been able to do this without payment plan thank you backyarddiscovery..

my kids favorite place in backyard

Overall, Great playset for a small back yard. You can leave out the Monkey bars for if you have less space.
When assembling, just sort out all the pieces 1st, download the Built App and look through the assembly process to help sort out the pieces , that way you get a very clear idea of how things come together.
DO NOT leave the wood laying out in the sun too long, the wood will warp, (some pieces were already warped in the box)
Careful of splinters, had to go through many pieces and smooth out, specially the floor boards.
You can even stain the wood, obviously do it before assembly.
Took me a about 8 hours with a helper for full assembly.

Great Swing set, easy assembly, perfect size.

It shipped well, parts were laid out and accounted for and were all there. It is very sturdy and the grandchildren love it. It fits perfectly in the yard and is very attractive.

Great addition to our backyard.

Got this for my 3 year old son and he loves it. Took us two days to build with help from two friends the first day. Instructions were clear, just don't read ahead, do them in the right order! The pre drilled holes were very helpful. The wood was softer than I thought it would be and a few boards had a tendency to split on the ends but all the weight bearing boards were sturdy. I don't feel the boards that split slightly decreased the safety at all. Overall very happy with it! Time will tell on how well it holds up.

Perfect for my 3 year old

It's an overall good quality purchase. We were missing several parts but they were sent to us within a few days. My son loves it!!!

Montpelier Playground

The set was of decent size and our 3 year old thought it was amazing. Construction was very time consuming but instructions were fairly straightforward. Just lots of pieces. Everything was present BUT the actual wood was very thin and when my husband started putting it together the wood split in some places and some of the screws wouldnt take in the wood so were lose.

Good but poor quality

backyarddiscovery.co.uk

This is by far the worst 1300 I have spent in my 35 years. The woods came are mostly split . My 9 year old can build a better and more sturdy playground . Stay away from this . It is not safe. The quality of wood is horrible I wouldn't even let my 3 year old on it .

Horrible
