As one of our newly improved wooden swing sets for backyards, this one has all the features of a beautiful mansion: the upper discovery kids fort with its peaked roof, full door and bay windows provides plenty of play space and plenty of style; the front sun porch doubles as an extended deck and launch pad for the 8' speedy kid slide; the monkey bars and ladder present fun access points into the playhouse. Swing into luxury on the belt swings and two-person glider, while the others retreat to the snack stand with built-in bench or sandbox area for some relaxing recreation on their historic sprawling estate!<br><br>All Cedar Construction:<br>The Montpelier is made from 100% cedar. With small, tight knot structure, your lumber will be less likely to develop small cracks emanating from knots. In laboratory testing, our durable cedar wood proved to be rot resistant and highly resistant to natural decay. All lumber is pre-stained for a smooth and clear appearance, as well as cut and stamped with the part number to help speed up the building process. Some pilot-hole drilling may be required. Our patented Safe-T-Fuse hardware makes assembly easy and secure. Its laminated swing beam is built strong, with steel clam-shell brackets to ensure that swinging is always safe. We have had the set for a few weeks and couldn't be happier!
Delivery was a tad longer than expected due to the shipping company used, but once it arrived it is just as advertised!
Though time consuming it was relatively easy to assemble (my husband and a friend did it over two days) and seems a nice sturdy structure. We didn't have any missing parts or damaged pieces.
Would definitely recommend as it was half the price s of other structures and just as good quality!

We love the playset!

We've had this set for a little under a month and the kids love it! We were looking for something that would grow with them and keep them occupied for years to come. We do have a daring two year old so this set maybe a little big for that age group but it's perfect for our 6 year old, I would say it's great for ages 4+. We used purchased the assembly service to have this set assembled and we would also recommend this as well! Go Configure came out and had it put together within several hours. They also notified backyard discovery of pieces they recommended to be replaced and put the order through. The prices came within a week and the assembly company is sending someone out to do the replacement. All around I would recommend backyard discovery for great products and great customer service and Go Configure is really great too!

Kids love it !

We are very pleased with the new swing set from Backyard Discovery.  My son (6) and daughter (1) are LOVING IT!!   Thank you for bringing some new found joy to our backyard.  I love that I dont have to pack them in the car to take them to the park ;)

Montpelier Swing Set

It shipped well, parts were laid out and accounted for and were all there.  It is very sturdy and the grandchildren love it.  It fits perfectly in the yard and is very attractive.

Great addition to our backyard.

Overall, Great playset for a small back yard. You can leave out the Monkey bars for if you have less space.
When assembling, just sort out all the pieces 1st, download the Built App and look through the assembly process to help sort out the pieces , that way you get a very clear idea of how things come together.
DO NOT leave the wood laying out in the sun too long, the wood will warp, (some pieces were already warped in the box)
Careful of splinters, had to go through many pieces and smooth out, specially the floor boards.
You can even stain the wood, obviously do it before assembly.
Took me a about 8 hours with a helper for full assembly.

Great Swing set, easy assembly, perfect size.

layground is super fun. It was a project putting it together, but that was somewhat fun too. We are very intermediate builders but managed to do it without too many problems.
Our ship time was very long (it took over a month from when we ordered to when it arrived) but  that is the nature of things right now. 
The playground itself is sturdy, fun and great. I have 4 kids ages 3-11. The 11 year old is a little big but can still play on it. A few elements are very challenging for the 3 year old, but she loves it. 
A level surface is a must or it won't go together. We didn't realize until we put the playground together our backyard is not quite level and had to fix it in a few spots.

Fun playground, big project

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good swing set son loves it even added sand underneath the playhouse..intructions were easy even did a few things ahead of time so when it was ready to assemble completely i just brought the pieces where i wanted the swing set to be and screw together instead of doing it in an inconvienent place the hole time building it also gives u a few hrs per day instead of an intense day of hrs building and not bickering with ur partner how to do things lol..but id advise to print another instruction booklet out so ones by ur build site and one near ur hardware it works good when u have a good setup for no unnecessary walking around finding ur book they have a phone access instrutions but i preferred paper lil old school. Didnt get much extra hardware for spares and ran out of washers and wish the spikes for foundation support were longer or had more but when i added a piece of plywood underneath the playhouse for sand it adds some weight..some of the wood pices were cracked and had to re-drill holes to avoid worsen crack into the wood. Good overall playset for kids keeps my boy entertained for hours especially the playhouse..just make sure u coat it with a waterproof wood treatment

Acceptable to my standards

The set was of decent size and our 3 year old thought it was amazing. Construction was very time consuming but instructions were fairly straightforward. Just lots of pieces. Everything was present BUT the actual wood was very thin and when my husband started putting it together the wood split in some places and some of the screws wouldnt take in the wood so were lose.

We purchased the swing set online and it arrived in two boxes, in record time! Due to reviews and limited time, we decided to pay extra to have it installed. So glad we did as although my husband and I are both quite adept with tools, it took the professional 12 hours to set up. It is a great set, but I already wish I'd bought a set with a 5' deck height. I have a 5 year old who is of average height and she is almost too tall to pay underneath already. Our 8 year old neighbor is too tall for all areas. I also wish it had a 4/4 swing beam as I do not think I will feel comfortable with more than two kids swinging at once (even though there are spots for four)- it is just not that robust. Even he swing chains and mounts are not so heavy-duty. Overall, good product for YOUNG kids. The only reason I would not recommend it, is that I want longevity in a purchase of this expense and I am pretty sure my kids will grow out of it by around age 7.

Good swing set, but I wish I'd gone larger

This is by far the worst 1300 I have spent in my 35 years. The woods came are mostly split . My 9 year old can build a better and more sturdy playground . Stay away from this . It is not safe. The quality of wood is horrible I wouldn't even let my 3 year old on it .
